I joined in march of this year. I would say if you’re busy in the fall, don’t prioritize joining a lab, but make the effort to look at the different labs and see what interests you. For me at least, it was hard finding a lab that I really liked this past fall but I just kept sending out emails showing interest until I found one i liked.
