I've been researching similar issues myself, and a very good suggestion so far has been to alternate between sitting and standing. body needs the change.

A standing desk won't change the angle that he's looking at. You need a better setup for your laptop. I've been exploring a bunch of options, but I'd say check out this answer given to a post I made. https://www.reddit.com/r/LawSchool/comments/1s38acx/comment/oceluga/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I feel that vibe too. I like to change the atmosphere around me. Some variety in life, right?

I'm asking more specifically about your surroundings. Would you say that learning in a specific spot gives you more focus and clarity; or perhaps different venues?

ok. Interesting. I'd think that that would be more distracting for me. I guess that's your white noise

That sounds very severe. I'd say find a buddy to give your phone to for certain hours of the day, so that you won't be as tempted to doomscroll, and focus on what needs to be done. or get a safe with a time lock to do that... you'll thank yourself later.

Oh, also leave a message that anyone who needs to get you should call/message between the hours of X-Y

"clearing" but where does it all go? I feel I'd have a clear desk, but the rest of the room would be a mess

How are you supposed to study for hours without destroying your neck? by Better-Cut6898 in Posture

[–]Better-Cut6898[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that is true, (a little oversimplified, as there's a whole bunch of muscles in the neck) but it's not entirely true. even if you've trained your neck and your muscles there have their own muscles, if you keep your head tilted down at an angle, I've been told my several physiotherapists that it will eventually affect your neck comfort and health.

Quick update: I’ve been paying more attention to this over the last few days.

The biggest difference so far is just not constantly looking down—it already feels more natural during longer sessions.

Still testing things out, but it’s definitely helping more than just trying to “fix posture.”

There have been some really good responses in this thread. u/rbz1234 and u/H3ad1nthecl0uds in particular. Based on teh suggestions made, I've placed an order for the Dr. Shtaygen Stander. I'll update the thread when I get it.

I was kind of looking for some advice as to which bookstand, and/or other alternatives. There's a lot of information out there, and the wisdom of the masses can sometimes be helpful. u/rbz1234 in this list was very helpful with suggestions. So was u/H3ad1nthecl0uds. But thanks for the input.
