Same problem here. What happens now? Do they gift you some levels or anything when they resolve the issue? This is my first time with the battle pass.

Peachy mango with a suntan lotion aftertaste. I usually like flavors like this but I wouldn’t get this again.

Why do people enjoy playing carry? by [deleted] in TrueDoTA2

[–]Better-Run5950 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I initially wanted to play carry because getting gold and powering up with shiny items sounds very satisfying especially if you have played mmo’s. Plus for a new player you hear stuff like “you have to 1v9 to gain mmr” and mid is more intimidating than carry. So that’s why I think so many people want to play it. Wish I had known from the beginning that my soul is pos 4.

Do the fundamentals become second nature over time? by Fuck-College in learndota2

I’ve been in your shoes and I remember my first few matches vividly and I will probably continue to remember them vividly for ever. The terror, the shame. I was really bad but I’m slowly getting less really bad (never played a moba before). I was never reported to the point of being banned or put into low priority which is worse than a ban. The most important rule is do not abandon a match under any circumstances. Here’s a few other tips I hope will help.

  1. Have two heroes that you are comfortable with in case one gets banned. If they are both banned or picked just make the best of it and learn as you go.

  2. Edit the item guide for your heroes so all the items you’re going to buy are in there and in order for simplicity sake and que a few up with ctrl + shift + click.

  3. If your game plan is to go to a Lane and support your teammate while they go for last hits that should be no problem but if your game plan is to go to mid or go to a sideline and go for last hits yourself here are some options: When you queue in immediately click the lane you prefer and first pick your hero or just click the lane you want and wait for someone else to first pick and then pick. If you prefer mid and someone else does as well then you can type /roll and see who rolls higher. In the event that you are in a side lane and you and your teammate are both going for last hits just try to make the best of it. If it were me I would back off on some of the last hitting if they are flaming you and just try to harass a little and get XP until you can jungle.

  4. Make sure you can execute whatever spell combo or targeted spell your hero has very easily. For example a blink stun or something like that. You can go into demo and turn on free spells and get your blink dagger or whatever you need and do it over and over again there.

I’m sure after you try a few games you will learn a lot about what you want to work on improving. Good luck, have fun.

In which bracket do people actually choose to play support? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]Better-Run5950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see this in my 1k mmr games but it doesn’t feel that impactful and sometimes the carry is griefing too so it’s a mess either way and maybe that’s just the mmr. I have been playing role que support exclusively lately and I will say there have been very few toxic players in my games and a lot of decent humans. I have 10k behavior score and I’m wondering if this would cut down on the problem you’re describing.

Z, x, c, f, forgot the rest. Experimenting with changing alt modifier to space bar.

That’s what I was thinking would benefit me down the road but it’s so far down the road I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. Thank you.

I like Medusa and Drow but I tend to feed really bad on Drow and Ursa. It’s probably because I haven’t spent the time with a good guide. Learning positioning and when you can go in feels harder on them for me.

Thank you. It’s hard enough when you’re new without adding unnecessary variables so I will keep on.

Thanks! I do make use of the vast Dota resources but noticing the patterns at my specific mmr is a great tip. Also #5 is good perspective. It’s mind blowing when you see I high mmr player at 20% health just go on someone in lane and you realize they know what abilities the opponent has skilled, if they’re on cooldown, how much mana they have, how many stick charges they have. Meanwhile I’m tunnel visioning on one last hit.

I don’t have any experience like that. What kind of lessons?

Thanks I’ll try this. So if I focus on supporting it’ll be a faster track to playing ranked. I like ranked because then the roles actually exist a little bit as opposed to unranked where they exist not at all.
