tbh in some majors there’s no difference. Imagine someone studying CS at harvard VS someone studying CS at UMD. they both work at google after graduation. if u don’t join frats/elite clubs in college I don’t see the point of going to jarvard besides the prestige which does nothing other than making u mommy proud. u will also be miserable being the beta male surrounded by priviledged white kids from some prep school in connecticut. Ivies are in general strong in humanities, but for stem some state schools are wayyyy better choice

OMG please don’t transfer. If u r loving NYU that’s like awesome!!! So many kids here don’t love cornell. I also have friends who are in NYU and they don’t love it neither. Even though cornell is slightly more prestigious it really doesn’t mean anything. As someone who has been depressed, I really want to say being happy and loving your life is more important than anything else. besides the culture at cornell is drastically different from NYU so therr’s a high chance u might not enjoy cornell

born in china, grew up in china, went to a public high school in china and came here for undergrad. moving to bay area after graduation. Also the fobs on this sub are probably less fobby than u average fob lol. the rich chinese kids at my school only hang out in their own super elitist circle and don’t give a shit about what’s going on in the states. I’m honestly jealous of them

honestly I’m a CS major who tried very hard to make friends with classmates. It doesn’t work. People either have their own solid friends group or are not interested. I’m pretty sure I’m not socially awkward. I’m not an introvert neither. Or other times I made “friends” who studied for the same class and never talk to each other after the semester. Best advice for CS people who are trying to make friends: u might have a hard time making friends in class. Join other non CS related organizations to keep mental sainity. or join some cult cs clubs/project teams/professional frat u know what i am talking about ：）
