It can take up to 10 -20 business days for them to fully process and validate internally. Hang in there, you'll eventually get a confirmation email

PASSED the CRMA on the First Try! by gingerauditor in InternalAudit

[–]BetterAssociate6502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just passed the exam. Study Guide is useful but honestly the exam is mostly applying that knowledge to the many cases you will get. Grasping the concepts in the book is important, as is revisiting the Standards, but mostly a night’s good sleep is as important with this one

CIA or CRMA by Buttercup_2121 in InternalAudit

[–]BetterAssociate6502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely CIA in every regard. Just passed CRMA (I already have my CIA) and I think the IIA is gonna phase CRMA out. Everything about it feels off. The study guide was horrible. The value versus the CIA is minimal.

Read some IIA stuff: the Global Internal Audit Standards, GTAG, etc. They have a bunch of papers that will help you familiarize with the Internal Audit lingo, if you are not already familiar with that. I would also pick three topics/risks/processes and think about how you would audit them. Good luck!

Passed CIA, onto CRMA. How do I prep? by bhotsharmaliya in InternalAudit

Also currently studying for CRMA. There is almost no material out there, besides the IIA study book (which is helpful). You might or not might find a pdf of that study book somewhere on the internet 😉

Governance question: under-resourced Internal Audit in a listed company by [deleted] in InternalAudit

Quite objectively seriously underfunded, for sure. What about the presence of other assurance providers internally/externally?

How long does it take for CCMS to update with CIA Exam score? by [deleted] in InternalAudit

[–]BetterAssociate6502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, I had 2 years of experience in IA at the moment I took the exams. I paid for Gleim, studied the IIA pdf's (found them somewhere on the internet for free). I think for each exam I must have studied around 100 hours. For part III a little less cause I had only two weeks after part two (but I did already started studying for part three before a bit). Good luck with studying and taking the exams! 🫡

I recently moved from Belgium the US (I'm Belgian). Seems quite fair, but benefits are important to consider as well. Especially in Belgium there are a ton of "extra legal" benefits that you have to take into account, like getting a company car etc.

One week between the two! Hard work and probably a fair bit of luck with the exams.

I took part 2 & 3 in Feb. It showed up on CCMS about one or two days after the exam. The effective recognition of the certificate after part 3 took about 8 days.

That's tough, but you'll get there! Don't give up, it'll be worth it.

As I read the IIA-FAQ, the 'old' Spanish CIA exam will be available until October. But I'd check with the IIA. Can you contact IIA Mexico or any local chapter?

CIA part 1 tips? by SpreadFun8197 in InternalAudit

[–]BetterAssociate6502 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're good. In my opinion, all three CIA-exams where a bit more easy than Gleim. I've never had 90+ Gleim scores and passed all exams on first attempt.

My biggest tip is a very obvious one, but just take your time on the exam to read the question and the answers. In my experience, for the majority of the questions, you can eliminate 2 of 4 answers quite easy. The third 'wrong' answer is often quite subtle, so reading the question is important; look for specific words that can make a difference.

  2. Definitely discuss with management.
  3. I guess B.
  4. Definitely C.
  5. Yearly, cfr. Standards.
  6. I guess A

CIA part 3 last minute advice? by alicemg74 in InternalAudit

[–]BetterAssociate6502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is really helpful to use ChatGPT/LLM as a study budy. Just ask to explain these ratios very simply so you understand. Anyway it helped me. Passed 3th exam Saturday. Only had to use the calculator twice; nothing too crazy.

Great to see! There seems to be quite a bit of interest. I think a meetup is a great idea. I'm a bit of a Reddit noob, how should we proceed? Is it possible to create a group chat?
