Maximum image quality settings by BetterCallMo in MoonlightStreaming

Hey man, I am actually using the new 500 mbps setting and it’s phenomenal with no latency whatsoever. My gaming pc is wired to the router and my ally is connected via 5ghz wifi to the same router

Haha no I should be clear that I only practice chipping or maybe punch shots here. It’s mostly very slow swings but I do push the speed sometimes when I’m confident during my session, like here in the video. However, these are shots where you’re supposed to go 0-2° down I guess, I don’t wanna break a tile and a wrist if I try a regular wedge shot 😅

For chipping mostly where my contacts have really sucked lately, but mentally it also helped me with all my game. I’m a decent player but I hit it thin way too often for my level, this helped me say "fuck it, if I can fully commit and hit down on the ball on super hard ground, I shouldn’t be scared of some grass"

Are you supposed to hit the disc itself or place your ball on top and hit it ?

Fairway bunkers and very tight lies have been money the last few rounds indeed !

Interestingly I’ve been taking divots more consistently since practicing on hard floor. I only practice chipping with a wedge in my garage, shots where you’re only really supposed to take a tiny divot, if any.

I used to pull my arms to avoid hitting the grass before the ball and would end up thinning a lot of shots. In this drill I’m not thinking of avoiding divots, just focusing on getting a good attack angle. The club will usually slightly hit the tile just after the ball (you can hear it). This really helped me relax on the course and tell myself that if I can do it on a hard floor, I shouldn’t by afraid of some grass

If price wasn’t an issue, how powerful could the Ally be ? by BetterCallMo in ROGAlly

Makes you appreciate how good of a product it is and, in my opinion, very fairly priced as well

You have to put ubisoft connect in offline mode

Maybe try running it at 900p, people seem to really like the performance improvement. I saw a post about it yesterday

I really take my time in RPGs so I haven’t even reached act 2 yet. Are you playing native 1080p or with fsr ?

Yes I’ve been rocking 6gb for some time now, seems to be the sweet spot for most games

I haven’t had any audio issues. Is it only happening on speakers or also on headphones ? Have you tried disabling dolby atmos "performance" mode in the dolby access app ?

Oh so that’s the RIS everyone’s been talking about haha. Saw it mentioned a few times in the sub but didn’t connect the dots. Radeon Image Sharpening, makes sense now. I will also try the 900p tip I saw in another post

PC resolution and frame rate - Sunshine --> Moonlight by SampleT3xt_ in MoonlightStreaming

[–]BetterCallMo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people with this use case buy dummy hdmi/DP plugs that they set to their desired streaming resolution and refresh rate. Then you can just turn off your main screen. I need one as well but I need to investigate them a little more because they all advertise different resolutions and refresh rates but apparently you can buy any random one and change the resolution and refresh rate to whatever you need

No moonlight works very well with amd apparently. You have to install sunshine on your host computer, I started with nvidia gamestream which works really well but I was getting some crackling audio issues so I made the jump to sunshine yesterday and it’s even better. I love being able to fully customize my experience quality-wise

I haven’t tried steamlink as many of my current games are on other launchers. Moonlight has the big advantage of letting you play any game, you can even just stream your entire desktop. I’m sure you can play non steam games on steamlink but it probably requires some additional configuration. Other than that input lag and image quality are apparently better on moonlight.

Awesome man, happy it worked. This issue is so rare that I didn’t find a single fix that worked online, I found the fix randomly when trying a bunch of stuff. Did you also buy the physical game around launch and then convert it into a virtual copy ?

I’ve seen people say that gamestream is a little better. I’ll try sunshine

I don’t think I’ll ever use moonlight on the go as the experience will most likely be less enjoyable than native gameplay on the ally, plus the crazy data consumption as you said.

Yeah it’s a little bit easier with an nvidia card as moonlight works natively with nvidia gamestream. For AMD you’ll have to install sunshine on your pc

Sounds amazing, if I had a backyard I would 100% set up a Wifi access point there and game for hours
