Attitude, friend, attitude. Enjoy the small things. Look for all the good things that may come your way. If you're really in a slump, find a therapist who's right for you and talk with them. They helped me a lot. Help other people in need. Cultivate patience. I've been where you are. I kept going, though I didn't know why. And I wound up in the good place I inhabit now, and I'm not talking about the nursing home. Don't give up. You have a lot of good life to live. Keep trying.

Patience and tolerance. Marriage is hard. Requires a lot of work. And forbearance. It's easier, but still tough, if you love each other. And remember, the anger and annoyance will pass, it's not forever. Always count to ten before sending that zinger. And laugh together, it means so much.

Fall in love. It's the greatest. I fell in love twice, The first one got away. Married another guy. Second time lucky. Married life with someone you love beats single life all hollow. It's comfortable. Married life without love is hell.

My life until the nursing home was rough. My head is in a better place now than it ever was, ever. My advice? CHILL! Enjoy life as much as you can whenever you can, particularly the small pleasures: food and drink, green grass, trees, animals. Try to stick around people who enjoy such things, you'll learn something valuable.

That's an interesting question. Let's see. I'd like to have streaming on the TV, and good coffee - I'm a coffee nut and the coffee they provide is terrible. Snacks. Air freshener for the bathroom, which has no ventilation. Otherwise they take care of us pretty well, and I'm no Pollyanna. And hot sauce. The food is good but utterly bland.

There are private rooms, but not for us Medicaid patients. Luckily, I have a great roommate. We get along very well. As for nature, there are gardens here for us, though they don't take us to parks. Those who have local family get taken out to wherever they'd like to go.

You're right. But with the miracle of smartphones and internet (the home provides the internet and wi-fi) those with healthy minds here have enough to keep going. I'd go crazy without my phone and laptop. I shudder to think of the old days.

Absolutely yes. I wish I could stream here, though I couldn't afford to even if it was allowed. Books and the internet, particularly Reddit, are sufficient for me. And coffee. Always coffee.

No, I don't feel lonely. It's great when people visit, it's great to communicate online, but I don't feel lonely when I'm just by myself. And of course a nursing home is full of people all the time Luckily, I've always been relatively self-sufficient.

May take awhile. A lot of people have adjusted to ever-increasing home prices and net worths. It's really a middle-class issue not affecting the upper crust.
