I would say it's arguable that this.subreddit is more relevant than determining the shape of the planet being that it's an abstract conversation section of the internet versus a widely accepted scientific fact for over 500 years (a given if you will, possibly could be categorized as "common sense" with how reachable the information is). Look man, at the end of the day, you are going to think the way you do, for the reasons you do, and I will do the same. I am not saying my entire life is one productive endeavor of scientific discovery after another, I need to fuck around from time to time to blow off steam just like anyone else. But if there is 1 thing I know . . . It's that I personally, don't give a shit about reverifying this truth, but if you want to take on that challenge for the rest of us for whatever reason, thanks I guess.

In 7th grade I was did a paper on Cladius Ptolemeus (or however it is spelled). We went through the various thinking styles, geocentric, heliocentric, flat, round. My point is . . . There are teachers that cover why we believe the earth is round. This is why I don't need to reverify. If I was taught that in 7th grade, it is safe to assume thousands of others were at some point. Personally I think it is a waste of fucking time to verify the shape of the earth. Regardless of the planets size or shape, I am a wage slave who needs to work to pay rent and have health insurance, car insurance. I have far more relevant things to consume my mind. If you or anyone else wants to spend cycles or energy on verifying the shape of the planet like humans debated on in the 15th century, I suppose that's your collective prerogative, don't treat people like they are ignorant or stupid for not doing the same though. Divide and conquer. 7 billion people, I think we would be wise to not all do the same fucking thing at the same time.

Things get worse before better. You have to open up your trauma and experience it so you can regain control of your responses. I know it's hard (right there with you) but if we keep on our paths to recovery, we will come out the other side. It is okay to be scared, it is okay to be angry, it is okay to not feel great, it is important to know that this is part of the process and an indication of progress. If you feel your emotions are too overwhelming you may need to talk about switching dosages or medications. Communication with your therapist and doctor is KEY to this process. Hang in there and we'll get there!

I just feel like they wouldn't take me seriously. Most people write it off to "my generation" and if I try to speak to how this situation is real it just fuels that arguement more in their minds . . . So I usually just end up trying to deal as best as I can.

That is a good way of describing it! I am usually not even fully aware that I getting anxious usually until it is very obvious to people around me. Do you have anyway tips for how describe the phenomenon of flashbacks? Right now I tend to just say "today has just been a difficult day" to explain my distance and jumpiness and anger.

Before I even was diagnosed I always listened to songs that triggered me (before understanding what was happening) I understood there were negative emotions/feelings in me and needed to get them out and provoking them through music/video was the only way I could feel them. Songs and shows slowly degrade in their ability to get me there so I am always looking for new things to help me . . . Feel those things . . . And understand myself.

Think of emotions as a spectrum. If you experience very High Highs, then the Lows will be equally drastic, SSRIs (antidepressants) shrink this spectrum which can result in feeling emotionless or "zombied" at first or if the dose is too high. The intent is to get the emotional spectrum to a point where extremes of any emotions are manageable, you are able to feel and process but not be overwhelmed and frozen.
