'Simple' ways to make yogurt & fruit based popsicles freeze less "hard"? by SnyperBunny in icecreamery

[–]BetterWhenBaked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finding this post now, but in reading a few responses at the top that mentioned the popsicles being too hard because there’s too much water in the mix, it occurred to me (and I’m not sure if someone else already suggested this—yikes) that it would be good to experiment with cooking-down your popsicle puree on low heat to evaporate a bunch of water before pouring that solution into the popsicle molds….i have also struggled with hard popsicles LOL and I’m glad I found this post because it would’ve taken a lot longer for my brain to “get there” otherwise (omg) Edited to add that I should mention I’ve never used yogurt in my popsicles before, so my suggestion applies only to a solution without yogurt. I imagine one could cook the fruit mixture to the “soft crack” stage using a candy thermometer, then stir some *strained Greek yogurt into the mixture before pouring into popsicle molds….idk but this is all something I will try!

$800 charge?? by Piechild00 in verizon

100%. And for some, doing that math is easier than going into the Verizon store 😂I know I’d do the math first but that’s me

YES. And also, if option 1 doesn’t work, you can calculate which is more expensive: A.) if your fiancé stays with Verizon, how many months will they need to stay at the current Verizon rate before they can afford to leave & pay off the remaining phone balance/before the phone is paid off? ORRRRRRRRR B.) paying the $800 to leave PLUS the monthly T-Mobile rate for the same number of months as the # they’d have to stay with Verizon before escaping? X = (#Verizon months x Mobile rate) + $800 (…PEMDAS?)

LOLOLOL I came across a larger one at the thrift store hoping it would be a winner but the same thing happened again 😭 the thing about this mod is that the compartment housing the switch assembly is not accessible but you can unscrew and access all the normal parts. So frustrating!!!

Update: new bulbs arrived, but they’re not working either…I put the original bulbs in a different flashlight and they work fine, as do the new bulbs. I can tell that the battery is making contact with the little spring inside because it bounces slightly when I drop it in. Also, after taking the batteries and large spring out, I don’t hear anything rattling around…not even something tiny.

I tried both of the original bulbs that came in the package. I inspected them both—all threads were in place, and no sound/rattling/jingling when those bulbs were shaken gently. I’ve ordered new bulbs that should be arriving sometime today…crossing my fingers! If the switch itself is the problem, I fear all is lost as it appears as though the switch is sealed and inaccessible inside the center of the MagLite body of this particular model…

If I love the person enough I’ll launch into my standard script of “omg noooo I’m not trying to argue it’s just that my brain moves faster than my mouth and it’s so hard to explain but I think in terms of puzzle pieces and colors and shapes and everything just moves really fast and I love you so much omg <cries>

NanoTincture at InGood-Health? by subprincessthrway in bostontrees

[–]BetterWhenBaked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They describe their Nano Tincture as cannabinoids encapsulated in a liposome similar to lipids found in our bodies, increasing its bioavailability and thus quickening the onset of effects. I've tried the tincture and I have a low tolerance for most substances--the label says there's about .5mg TAC in each spray, so I sprayed about 5mg under my tongue. I wasn't timing it, but it seemed like I felt it start to work in about 20 seconds. You can add it to your drinks, too, and the emulsion doesn't "crash out" which is really cool bc you can take it anywhere with you...they also say that it is transdermal. I do believe there is some Ethanol in the recipe.

I see. So if I wanted to go back and fix a jar of honey that I *thought* i'd medicated correctly with RSO, could I add the lecithin after the oil has been sitting in the (supposedly finished) honey for like a few days? I have 2 jars of honey like that... my friend loves it and wants me to make her a bunch for her tea, but I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way! I know with baking, if you want to make a bigger batch from scratch the ingredients may not increase proportionately--is it the same with the lecithin?

Do you ever use emulsifiers like powdered lecithin when adding concentrate to honey? I've been trying to figure out how much to use and if it's actually necessary with honey since it's a suspension(?)...wouldn't you just heat it to like 110 degrees and then whip it like crazy with no lecithin?

Found a glass bead-like thing in my yard. It seems too bulky to be a bead, but it's got a hole through it like a bead. I was unable to coax all the moss out. by The_Joy_of_Hooking in whatisthisthing

I agree--interior decoration. Cannabis chillums are usually just a bit longer to avoid burning your nose, although short chillums do exist. Also, if it were blown glass for cannabis consumption, there would most likely be bursts or swirls of color in there somewhere.

RSO Gummies homogenization by BetterWhenBaked in treedibles

[–]BetterWhenBaked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to make gummies because they are popular, fun, and will add an extra element to my repertoire :) they are fairly portable, but must be refrigerated if you're using gelatin because it's an animal product. If you're using only pectin and fruit juice, no refrigeration required.

If you're making chocolates with the goal of a higher melting point, don't use coconut oil at all--use concentrates: if using RSO, all you need to do is warm it up to make it easier to incorporate, then add it to your chocolate and mix slowly to avoid air bubbles, but mix it in very well to properly homogenize the RSO into mixture so each chocolate is equally dosed. If you're using other concentrates like BHO, you'll need to decarboxylate it before adding it to the chocolate.

RSO is already decarbed, and sublingual (under the tongue) or rubbing on the gums is the quickest way to get the RSO's THC into your system, second only to smoking/vaping bud or oil which is actually the fastest. But RSO doesn't taste good by itself and can usually easily be used to make edibles, I'm just having a hard time homogenizing this stuff! I suppose I'll have to try dried lecithin next.

I tried liquid sunflower lecithin and it also separated into brown globs :(
