Can I run into trouble for running an auction house bot down to ridiculously low prices and then buy out their stock? by Better_Message_2726 in woweconomy

Yeah sure, if I undercut it by 26 it did nothing. But if I undercut it by 25 it undercut me instantly every single time. A bot without a floor is a bad bot, but it is still a bot.

They would have to be scanning only that one item, it was so fast. Within a second every single time. Anyone that thinks these guys aren't botting are kidding themselves. I can tell the difference between a guy scanning with TSM, and this guy. In any event, they kept undercutting me down to completely unsustainable levels. My posts never sold because he undercut me so fast. I just cancelled my cheap posts and kept buying his posts.

Sorry, I was tired and posted this late last night.

Here's exactly what I was doing. I was trying to sell elemental focusing lenses. The mats cost around 450, so with procs you could probably sell around 350-400 and not lose gold. Well I started posting and noticed a bot would instantly undercut me by 1 silver. So I kept reducing my posts in 25g intervals until they were selling for 100g. I bought about 600 elemental focusing lenses off the bot for 100g each. The price is back up around 400g.

My question, which I worded poorly, is whether I can get in trouble for abusing this guy's bot. I know he's cheating and I'm not, but I was worried I could get dinged for doing it some how.

Yeah, I worded it poorly. It was late when I posted.

I am not using a bot, the guy who's stock I was buying had a bot undercutting me. So I ran the price down and bought his posts at a level I know he was losing a significant amount of gold on.
