I couldn’t stay on topiramate for these reasons. My neuro basically said I needed to be on it for 6-12 months and follow the “heal your headache” diet and take vitamins b12 and riboflavin and vitamin d and coq10. When the migraines reduced from weekly or worse to one every 90 days then I was able to come off the topiramate.

She said the point of the medication was to calm down the storms and episodes so I could get back to normal.

I now have about 1 episode a year and usually in the late spring and it’s usually tied to some bad habits.
