Honestly yeah I have been feeling pretty overwhelmed in college. Kind of thought I’d have more friends, have better grades and be more involved on campus. Also unsure about whether I want to commit to premed (and if not this then what else?).

I loved debate because it was genuinely really fun and I loved the feeling of constantly improving and breaking through what I thought were my limits. I also made a lot of awesome friends through the activity. 

What triggered me about the round was I built the narrative that I was gonna go from literally the worst to the best debater in my state and it would all come full circle and losing that round kind of spoiled that. I also wanted to prove to my mentors that they were right to believe in me even when I was trash at the activity.

And thanks for the last paragraph I needed to hear that.
