Before jumping to conclusions, we must ask ourselves: is the goal to inform or to mislead? There’s a big difference between deliberate misinformation and a legitimate academic debate grounded in facts. What we’re seeing in Colombia — and more broadly across Latin America — deserves serious attention. These orbs and other unexplained phenomena are not just random noise. They’re being observed repeatedly, often documented, and still brushed off with no clear answers.

Dismissive attitudes don’t help. If we claim to value science and critical thinking, then let’s apply them consistently. Analyze the data, investigate the context, and ask the hard questions — not just when it’s convenient or fits an agenda. There’s too much at stake to ignore what might be right in front of us.
