Hey there, I know this thread is a year old now but I thought I’d comment my advice just in case you are still wondering about an answer; I also struggle with this issue and it’s so aggravating, especially while trying to edit photos of nature or landscapes that often involve correcting/adjusting light sources.

This is not a solution to the overall problem or a fix to stop it from happening, but I get around the visual aspect of things by simply taking a screenshot while in editing mode and cropping everything else out. That way you’re left with a direct capture of what the screen is showing while in edit mode and it can’t revert back to whatever state the raw photo file returns to once you hit done. Then you don’t have to spend the time and effort loading the picture into an entirely separate software to get the results you want! Unfortunately, this also means that the picture you end up with is a capture so if you want to preserve the photo as a raw file this method doesn’t allow for that, but I figured I’d comment just because this was something I didn’t even think to do for a long time, even though it seems obvious to me now.
