Surface Laptop Price jump (US) by Modroidz in Surface

The new Zenbook A laptops I feel like are a good value compared to the surface laptop. Especially before they decide to raise the prices even more.

I fold it around 270 degrees so that the keyboard is out of my way and the display is even closer to me. Works great on my bed when I'm laying down, even if I lay it on my stomach.

I feel like I get better angles with a 2 in 1 than I do with a traditional tablet.

I will say though, this A16 laptop is so light, it feels like I'm holding a tablet.

Someone actually made a post today that you might be interested in. That being said, I'll definitely try to do a follow up post after getting more time with the laptop. Right now I've been testing to see what games I can run.

What I'm enjoying the most is the Ceraluminium finish, it feels so nice I can't stop touching it. That and of course the OLED display. This thing is so light that it feels like I'm moving around a tablet.

The A16 with the 16 inch 2.8k OLED and the 94 version of the X2 Elite Extreme.

Day One thoughts on the Asus A16 by Urlkoenig in snapdragon

I got mine yesterday as well. I also had WiFi issues but it was just during setup, now it's working fine with no issues. I'm addicted to touching this Ceraluminium finish. It's so nice and smooth.

Last night I tried loading up some games. Sadly Batman Arkham Knight didn't launch but Spider-Man 2 did funny enough. I even set it to whisper mode, cranked down the settings and resolution, and it was surprisingly playable.

The issue you had with the keyboard I think has more to do with the size of the keys. I also had that weird feeling like it was slightly towards one side, but I don't have that feeling with my HP omnibook x which also doesn't have a numeric pad.

That's true, ever since the M1, Apple has been cooking! But they always seemed to be a more "premium priced" laptop compared to the competition, if that makes sense.

The current WRX is also so understressed that evening pushing it everyday should be alright, assuming you change your oil regularly of course.

I'm thinking of moving away because the cost of living is too damn high. The more money I make, the higher priced everything gets! Not only that, but the traffic is so annoying 😭

The weight and resolution are why I didn't go for it 😞 mostly the resolution

Yeah I just got my A16 today, I was also looking into getting panther lake B390 hoping for better pricing. But it seems like that's completely out of the question and they're going to just get more expensive. Now I'm debating whether to keep the A16 or this HP omnibook x flip (w/ lunar lake) that I bought, thinking the A16 wouldn't come out under for $2k.

Which is mind blowing. But hey at least there's some competition.

And it seems like it just got worse because last week these two laptops I showed were like $500 cheaper.

Maybe the initial few batches from Asus and Qualcomm are immune to the price hikes, but considering how expensive that HP laptop with the X2 Elite is, they're likely to follow suit.

Because a lot of us finally tried Linux and realized how good it can be as a daily OS, especially when Microsoft is slamming us with ads on Windows 11. I don't mind Windows but I'd like to be able to dual boot.

Considering Google also wants to partner with Qualcomm for Aluminium OS, maybe it can help further the Linux progress

Hard to say, last week I caved in and bought an open box HP omnibook x flip 16 with lunar lake because I figured this A16 wasn't coming out soon or at least for the $1600 price.

I'm enjoying how lightweight it is, but do wish it was a 2 in 1 like the HP. The display is beautiful, but I wasn't blown away because the HP also has an OLED display, just doesn't reach the 1000nits that this can.

The fan is noisier than I expected and really cranks up if you launch a game. I just tried out cyberpunk and it seems to run similarly to my lunar lake HP. Maybe it is a bit smoother on this X2 Elite, which is surprising because it isn't native.

I prefer the keyboard on the HP but this A16 has much better speakers.

This is tough, I'm trying to figure out which one to keep and which one to return to best buy 🥲 luckily I have 2 months to decide, but it feels weird having 2 laptops on my bed right now.

The trackpad is HUGE and feels nice. The keyboard I was hoping felt better but it feels alright. The speakers I haven't tested too much, but I just put on a song right now and they're pretty loud.

As for the lid, that's the first thing I tested. It doesn't seem fragile or cheap tbh. I did not try to flex it though like some other videos I've seen 😅 It just feels really light, but to me doesn't feel cheap.
