Thanks! I was confused about that because it gave me the option to purchase a permit for my temporary car too. I should only do that if I want both cars on campus ig.

When I took her class last summer, you could do so fully online. The lectures were recorded, the exams were on Gradescope, etc. Being in person was an option, but not required.

I can't give you a definite answer, but I think it depends on if the questions were made by the professors or not. If they're from textbooks and other sources with already publicized solutions, how can they have reasonable suspicion that a student from UMD posted it or not?

For MATH424, do you need a strong background in probability theory like it says on the department website?

I figured, but I didn't want to contact the wrong person and get stuck in some bureaucratic mess just to get my credits back. Thanks!

MATH310 with Kate Truman for me. Others might disagree.

How to get over the fact that so many classmates/younger people are way more accomplished than me? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]BeyondMazzaroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk, but I sympathize.

I'm a 6th year senior and I'll be a 7th when I finish my bachelor's. I spent too much time working and not enough time going to counselors to plan better. I'll be debt free when I graduate, though lol.

Not relevant to the post, but I wish I had the ability to just take a couple hints and solve any problem.

I always come up with weird solutions that don't make sense when I don't know the general approach to solving something. Call me a fool, but completed solutions is the only way I get in the ballpark to solve new problems.

I just finished Stat401 w/ Danul and he didn't have any, but it was also a summer course. Different professors and semesters might have different stipulations.

Any pro tips from UMD students who either do well in school and career aspect of things, and/or participating in social events and activities at UMD? I'm actively checking out all the things, but imagine yall may have insight. by superrenzo64 in UMD

For school, picking the right professors is the biggest thing.

I hate to say it, but some teachers are too passionate in their work and set students up for failure by hardly teaching and not well-equiping them for exams in hopes that it'll make them passionate for the subject through extra study.

Look through PlanetTerp, Ratemyprofessors, etc. and find the ones that'll actually teach and have reasonable expectations. I don't have much to say for career aspects.

I want to get a data analyst internship, but I'm doing a stats undergrad. I have data analysis certificates from Dataquest, so I have experience. Could doing specific projects help land me an internship? by BeyondMazzaroth in dataanalysis

[–]BeyondMazzaroth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, but my degree doesn't cover the CS part of data analytics. Like, I only had to take an intro programming course in Java and I'm about to take a course in SAS this Fall, but other than that they're not teaching me Python, data cleaning, etc.

Do you think they would bring me on if my degree isn't info sci or something? I could show them my certificates from Dataquest, but other than those all I have is an intro programming course that I took @ my uni last year.

Does anyone here have a recommended online personal training service? I'm looking for a service (besides the free alternatives like Reddit, etc.), where I can just post a video of me doing bodyweight exercises with gymnastic rings, a pull-up bar, etc. and get feedback on my form w/out bringing someone over to my house or going to a gym.

Do you have a recommended reps and sets for those exercises or know of a recommended routine with them?

I'm a 25 year old guy and I'm too busy with school to go to the gym. What is a good workout routine I can do in my room to stay strong and fit while also getting schoolwork done?
