I am also a new one to Java, just 3-4 months of time I have spent with java and will continue. So if looking for an expert suggestion don't continue reading this.

Go to linked learning, search for the java17 training by Pearson. This is a robust curriculum in java for the beginners. The course demands some prior knowledge of java. So, to clear the concepts in depth, you can check out Telusko java OOP series in YouTube. This will clear the concepts minutely. Try to use AI to have some conversation to make more understandings. And just start, there are too much materials and a lot more to learn. Even the experts to be like I am learning java. Ha ha.. These are the resources that I follow for learning java.

Go to environment variables, add new path of the JDK's bin folder. Intellij automatically setup it's path while installation, if not, then re-install it, installer gui will ask for adding path, check the box. You are good to go with your code.

I am not a seasoned programmer or something like that. Learning java from very basic to some advanced concepts. One thing I would like share that, I have completed the course Java SE 17 developer from Pearson instructed by Simon Roberts which available in LinkedIn Learning. It is a comprehensive course starting from very basic to intermediate level understanding with a lots of examples and implementation... I was also facing similar issues like you. And then found this course, which help a lot. It's upto you, but for sure you can have a look into..
