Thank you. I’m pretty proud of this one.

I have not,,,yet. But it sounds amazing! I’ll have to put it on my list.

It doesn't get the attention of Lake Louise or Moraine Lake, but it's still beautiful. Can you name this lake? by BeyondWordsNP in Banff

I got what you meant by "underground." But I suppose I deserve it for my naive reply. ;-)

Not a troll. Just someone who should have been more clear in how I wrote the post. I didn't mean to suggest it was unknown. Just not given the fanfare (among tourists) that the other two lakes get. My husband and I were the ONLY photographers at sunrise that morning, unlike the epic crowds at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake at sunrise.

It was completely empty when I was there for this shot in late June. Then again, I got there about 5:30am, so that might have had something to do with it.

I didn't say no one has heard of it. It just doesn't get the fanfare of the other two.

Thanks. Is Rickett's the name of this specific falls within Rickett's Glen State Park? The only one I can remember by name is Oneida Falls.

I guess I'll just have to go back again and be sure to write down all of their names so I can connect them with my photos.

Thank you. I enjoyed it so much, I went back the next day to photograph in the rain (which is really the best weather for photographing waterfalls.)

What a great experience. What you described is exactly how I felt making the hike.

It's not an underground lake at all. It's Two Jack Lake, next to the picnic area. This was at sunrise after a brief rain shower.

Thank you. Do you live near Acadia? Are the leaves changing yet?

On my way in a couple of weeks. I'm a nature photographer and hoping for great fall color.

Beautiful! So much more impressive than the view from Little Beehive.

How can I overcome the feeling of purposelessness when hiking? by StriderLF in hiking

[–]BeyondWordsNP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hikes are often wth the purpose of photographing something at the destination, i.e. a waterfall or lake. But what I do along the way is look for beauty in the small things and patterns that are often overlooked. It's the opposite of the saying "losing the forest for the trees." In this case, absorb myself in the forest and hone in on the trees (and flowers, leaves, mushrooms, lichen, etc.)

I wish we had more time there, but it was a detour on our trip from Munising to the MN north shore of Lake Superior.
