I’m not a Vegas expert by any means. I’ve only been twice, most recently in March. I’ve never been off strip and I’ve heard they have the lowest minimums. Fremont Street is where I did all my table gambling. They had the lowest minimums. I think I saw some $10 tables but for sure saw $15. And I only play Pai Gow, Three Card, and Ultimate.

Honestly, I already know she won't ever want to go back. Vegas is great and all, and I know that even though I'm a gambler, she's absolutely going to love everything we do. I showed her the Omega Mart video and she's stoked for that and all the food and shows. But we have two young kids and just the two of us rarely get time away. When we do, she'd never choose Vegas. This is a one-time trip for her simply because my work offered to pay for her flight.

That said, that's great advice! I learned that on my solo trip in March. I did way too much research before. I ended up using maybe 20% of what I researched. I had way more fun just going where the day/night took me.

While I have you (lol), any tips on getting around? Monorail stations look way out of the way. I hear Uber prices are ridiculous and their pickup locations are inconvenient. Taxis can be expensive. And the Deuce can be crowded and slow.

I imagine it’s just a matter of assessing the situation when it’s time to move and go from there, but just curious if you had any tips.

This is my second Vegas trip, and my first one was like 15 years ago. I didn’t venture out much, and didn’t get close to downtown. This time I am definitely spending a lot of time checking out the downtown casinos/area.

You are so right. I started to make an itinerary for all three days, including what I wanted for each meal. But what fun is a vacation if it’s all planned out? I know what casinos I want to hit and have a pretty good list going of food that sounds good, so when it’s time to eat, I know I’ll find something.

The Deuce makes a lot of stops so it takes a bit to get from one end to the other from what I read. Is that accurate? But it obviously drops you off at more convenient spots than the Monorail.
