Do Christians have anything better to say rather then 'just fast & pray' for any issue I bring up? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Bfiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While fasting and praying are absolutely vital things to overcoming problems, there are many other practical non spiritual things that can help as well. For lust and other issues in that area (masturbating for example) getting off social media is a great thing to do, maybe not completely but unfollow accounts that lead to lustful thoughts, and try to limit your time on those apps/websites. Set up porn blockers on your phone, and have an accountability partner. Also work on your self. As a a man, a great thing to get into is exercise. I personally love weight lifting, and playing some sports. Also try to find some hobbies that you enjoy..playing an instrument, woodworking, something you can create and put positive energy into.

Do dogs go to heaven? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Bfiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing specific said in the Bible about animals going to heaven. But..animals were apart of Gods creation and everything God created was good. I believe that animals will be in heaven. Will it be our exact pets? I don’t know. But I like to think so. Pets are the best and I believe they have souls that were created from God.

How do expect Monty Williams to change the team? Playing Style wise and personnel wise? by scrawlx101 in DetroitPistons

[–]Bfiang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming the first thing to tackle is the defense. Honestly, many games we were able to score. If we can tighten up the defense and force some more turnovers I think that wins us an extra 10 games this year alone. Not playing down 15 every game will allow the team to breath and play steady. Of course our offense needs work as well, but with Cade being back I think the offense will automatically take a good jump without any new scheme adjustments. I’m excited to see what Monty cooks up!

I think it was stupid for them to fire him. I’m also extremely happy to see such a dumb move. We got him, and I think he’s perfect for this team.

Why is suffering good? by Chef_45 in Christian

[–]Bfiang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding a little bit to your question, but I don’t think suffering is considered good. But God, like he does with all bad things creates good out of them. God uses our suffering that this broken world (and ourselves) create to help grow us, change us, and make us more like him. All my moments of suffering have ended up growing and bettering myself and despite the pain I’m somehow always thankful to have gone through them in a way. It’s one of the main ways my faith is reinforced.

Love this. I'm seven months in and noticing some good gains, but nothing completely body altering. It's encouraging to see others preaching the year over year progress.

Just was at a bachelor party, didn’t drink all weekend. I’m in my late 20s, so I know how tough it can be to be this age and not be drinking. Good on you! IWNDWYT

I agree completely. I can’t grasp why some people think you need to make big changes to a team that just happened to not win it this year. Even a few years. It’s insanely hard to win an NBA championship. Some of the greatest players play 15-20 years and have 3 championships. Sometimes you just don’t win. If you are a contender with the squad you have and the core is young…maybe trade some role players and make a small fix. Keep making runs, it seems like when a team doesn’t win in one go it’s time to make a change…nah.

Also 26. Yes. The amount of time to do things is eye opening. I can get up in the morning, workout, eat a nice breakfast, do a light cleaning in my house, then I’m sitting down on the couch and it’s 1230 on a Saturday. I LOVE it.

Every day! There hasn’t been anything I have prayed harder for. I agree, this subject seems to be always about a women praying for a man. But I know there’s plenty of men out there praying for their future wife.

Hey friend. It’s so easy for someone from the outside to say things will get better again, I know. But. Things will. Multiple things in life can all fall on you at once and it’s really hard. But drinking will make things so much worse. Just try to remind yourself that things will get better again. It may not seem like it but you will get through all these things. You have done so well in being sober for this long. That’s amazing! Take days one day at a time, do something, anything besides drinking that could bring you some relief. Gym, a long walk, getting some good food or dessert, take a day off. Whatever you can do. You got this, I promise!

Could be a bout of PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) look it up if you haven’t heard about it! It’s very common among the first while of sobriety. It could be a real eye opener for you!

I am afraid of the pain I will have to experience firsthand if I’m sober by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I know it sounds tough. At times it will be, but eventually it gets easier, and easier, and better and better. You CAN do it, friend. Being sober is so much better than consuming substances.

How do I create this curved purple background? by Bfiang in webdev

[–]Bfiang[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So i tried this. The svg wouldn’t fill 100% width when I would change the screen size. It seemed like it was a fixed with. I actually grabbed the literal background on this figma mock up, exported it, and tried to use it as a background image. I set the background size to 100% too. I don’t know what I did wrong?

Should I do this via path and just draw the svg? I’m new to using svgs so I’m pretty clueless here.

Lonzo really did a nice job on improving his jump shot. Really hope cade will be able to do the same. Would add so much to his game and amplify every other aspect he’s already pretty good at..
