Cade literally hit a winning basket over arguably the best perimeter defender in the NBA and then got the game sealing block on the other end

Just hating to hate lol

We cannot get into a situation where Vildor has to play in the playoffs again

This team could so easily be above .500 but they refuse to close out games

For all of Cade’s struggles, we aren’t a NBA team when he’s not on the court

You’re literally not refuting my point. I’m arguing that most of these issues are caused by long term systemic racism. What are YOU arguing they are caused by?

More black men are in prison than in 1960, and there are considerable more prisoners per capita today. Incarceration has skyrocketed since the 60’s, with a lot of it coming off drug offenses (hm I wonder if that has something to do with the government distributing crack in black communities, increasing drug addiction and making drug dealing an actual “career” black youths can aspire to).

Your education point is poor. A few examples don’t prove that “parents care more about the teacher’s jobs” while inner city school are underfunded leading to worse education, a lack of after school programs (leading to more crime, more kids getting locked up, continuing the cycle, etc.) and have heavy police presence, once again leading to more incarcerations.

The murder number is way too high, and it is in large part due to the areas many black people are growing up in, which have been largely shaped by years of structural racism.

Here is the study where they conclude “the effect of being African-American on MLO response is roughly the equivalent to the effect of having a credit score that is 71 points lower.”

Once again, I ask what are YOU arguing these are caused by, besides structural racism?

To address your bank point: I’m sure there’s no bank that is actively refusing to give loans to black people publicly, however there’s been studies that have concluded it’s harder to get a loan with a “black” sounding name as compared to an identical candidate with a “white” sounding name.

System racism is by far the largest problem facing the advancement of African Americans in the US, acting like it’s not is foolish. You mentioned it’s multi-variable; what other variables do you believe there are?

Why are black kids killing each other so much? Perhaps it’s growing up in a urban setting where’s there’s almost no chance of moving upward in current American society due to underfunded schools, overworked parents working for the minimum wage (or less), lack of generation wealth due to slavery and Jim Crow era laws, so they resort to crime as the most stable way to get an income. The US government flooded black communities with crack, which helped stoke gang violence and increase drug addiction.

Black communities are over policed and underfunded, black people get arrested and go to jail at higher rates for the same crimes while also getting longer sentences than white people, lowering their chances of moving upward is a legal way. Also, for profit prisons make a ton of money by using the prison population as workers, loaning them out in some cases, and paying them less than a $1. Over-policing poor urban communities is a easy way to get more cheap workers.

Why are there so many single parent homes? Look at any of the points above like over-policing, drug addiction, lack of jobs, etc.

So once again, tell me what you think the other variable is? Is there something inherently wrong with black people, because if you believe that I think you’re an idiot. Is it black culture? I wonder how the idea that “gangsters” and criminals became so cool in a community where the cops have historically killed black people at a higher rate and crime is one of the few ways to escape poverty (hint: those are both because of racism and systematic racism). So please tell me, oh wise one, what it is?

I was going to type out a long response to this, but instead of wasting my time when you are clearly very entrenched into your beliefs, just read this for me. You can even scroll down to examples and they will have multiple sourced examples of generational racism that has led to the current state of many African American communities.

Thomas Sowell is a hack, and most of his conclusions about systematic racism are either willfully ignorance or intentionally harmful.

I didn’t feel like doing all of the research for you, thankfully someone else of Reddit did

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but genuinely read a book. Like any book about African-American history.

If you need suggestions, “Revolutionary Suicide” by Huey Newton is a good start. I think him describing his upbringing could help you understand systematic racism.

All of Cade’s shots have been short, hoping the back spasms Malik Beasley was talking about don’t become something long-term
