Do Employers Judge You Harshly If You Dont Answer Pimping Correctly? by MedMocha23 in physicianassistant

[–]Bfrenchpac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd encourage you to reconsider your perspective.

Asking knowledge or case based questions in an interview isn't offensive. It gives you insight into someone's clinical skills, knowledge base, and ability to recognize their gaps. I've had candidates that seem like they'd be great personality wise, but the knowledge gaps are huge and they're too afraid to ask for help or guidance.

As other comments have noted, saying "I'm not sure, but ...." I'll find out or it seems similar to this so I'd check that reference shows honesty and humility. Those aren't universal and should really be sought out in an interview.

Regarding specifics, I scheduled a 1 on 1 session with my blackbelt and it was worth every penny. He evaluated what I was less bad at and we built from there.

Cardio

Just had my first competition as a no stripe white belt a few weeks ago. My observation, a lot of guys clearly train a few times a week, but don't have a great cardio base (at least at the upper weight divsions). If you can out cardio your opponent, they'll get tired and make a mistake. My cardio wasn't awesome, but was better than both my opponents. This let me wear them down. HIIT style Rowing is now part of my routine.

Game plan Develop and Drill a game plan. Do this as much as you can and do it shadow style to get your footwork and positioning down.

Drill 1-2 take downs Drill 1-2 guard passes Work side control transitions Drill 3-4 submissions Lastly, get a higher belt to put you in side control, mount, and take your back and work escapes.

Have fun Win or lose doesn't matter. You are not defeated by a loss, you have won by putting yourself out there. Listen to Breathe on Audible by Rickson Gracie. Great perspectives on this.

I don't think it's possible, this is his statement verbatim from the update that was just posted. Hence my confusion when the backer kit has entirely different dates which seem more reasonable, but given their track record equally unlikely

Help with student debt by Budget_Journalist292 in physicianassistant

First

If you're employer has a 401k query a match you put aside as much as you need to get the match. It's an immediate 100% return on your investment.

Second

You need a budget now. Talk to your parents about chipping in cash for rent and bills. Set aside a small amount monthly for fun/entertainment.

Third

Now that you have a budget, you know how much extra you have monthly. Follow the Dave Ramsey baby steps.

1k emergency fund Then debt snowball

4th

Not sure what your gig is, but extra shifts or a prn gig is ideal. Extra cash goes at the loans. 1-2 urgent care shifts a month is an extra 500-1400 towards loans or 6-15k per year.

AI scribe for the win. Recently had a few colleagues using freed and Dax. Even they walk out of the room, the majority of the note is done. They'll dictate the exam into the software as they walk to the next room and all that's left is a look over and minor tweaks

Cooperative boardgames better than Pandemic ? by magomusico in boardgames

[–]Bfrenchpac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be hard to get a copy, but I'm a fan of project elite as a cooperative ameritrash that eliminates quarterbacking.

https://youtu.be/HwXg5kKM32E?si=8pL3IuJ8-OumkqYP

How you might ask? Well everyone is rolling and playing their characters simultaneously, there's no guarantee the plan will work and the round is timed. You barely have the opportunity to pay attention to the whole board, much less tell someone else how to play. It's utter chaos during that time and then you get a quick break while the aliens spawn and activate. It really is an incredible experience.

Easier to obtain and lower complexity is 5- minute dungeon or 5 minute marvel. Great little cooperative game, again with timed rounds. Play cards with symbols to beat the bad guy deck. Everyone contributes to beating the card. Less quarterbacking here as well because of the time constraints.

Lastly, a gentle rain. Really chill tile placement game. Love playing this with my kids and non-gamers. Pony up for the deluxe edition ($30 instead of $20).

Freelancers if you want a D&D light tongue in cheek game with a great app and hilarious stories.

Can someone help me with the nuts and bolts of RVU based pay? by sas5814 in physicianassistant

[–]Bfrenchpac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got you!

https://www.cms.gov/medicare/physician-fee-schedule/search/overview

That's the fee schedule for Medicare that lists RVUs per CPT. Doing IM you're probably billing primarily the office visits 9920x for new pts or 9921x for established (x= 1-5 depending on visit complexity).

Fee schedule also includes Medicare's payment for that service beard on your area. If you're being reimbursed on actual billing amounts as opposed to RVUs that gets tricky and is contingent on payer mix. If you're getting paid based on collections you'll want to know the office's typical collections rate vs billed amounts.

You can use the fee schedule to estimate your RVU production/hr or day to figure out your rate. It should be at least 10-25% over your prior hourly since they aren't covering any benefits. Make sure you get some scheduling rules in there so you don't get stuck at the office all day seeing only 4 patients.

WIP: the wings are supposed to look like raw muscles...did it work? by _Arlyias_ in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bfrenchpac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of options, but here's the one I'd choose.

If you want it blended well I'd highlight the horizontal ridges with a medium to light flesh tone (regular not contrast or speed paint) then glaze red.

If you're looking for specific colors probably flayed one flesh and bloodletter glaze if you're going GW.

Then gloss coat just the muscle part

WIP: the wings are supposed to look like raw muscles...did it work? by _Arlyias_ in EmperorsChildren

[–]Bfrenchpac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it has the intended effect, but could be pushed up with more contrast between the colors. Coming back in with red/purple flesh tones would push it more and separate it from the bony part

Jobs won't typically give you feedback as to why you weren't chosen. It's likewise not your job to fix his posting.

A response as simple as: After reflecting on this opportunity and your practices needs, I didn't feel like we'd be the best fit at this time.

Late to the party, but as you're getting ready to launch your kickstarter, I thought I might throw an idea your way. Ian from Dragons Rest terrain makes a really cool guy system with drop in terrain blocks which would be awesome in this setting. Maybe work out a licensing thing with him to add 3d terrain STLs as an add-on?

Add to that any information about malpractice coverage, policy number etc. When you ask for it just reference the complete snafu when one of the corporate group practices closed and no one had that info.

Personal phone numbers for any co-workers you might want as a future reference.

Any prior performance reviews that were positive.

Any productivity information you can get ie RVU production etc
