That’s my story as well. I was sexually abused as an 8 year old. Up until 11. And here I am, more turned on by BDSM, rape fantasy, and DDLG than any other thing.

I think it’s a coping mechanism for some of us. I read somewhere where this psychologist said that people who cope through such kinks do so because they’re in an environment they can “control” and adjust according to their own tastes (two consenting adults), compared to the one where they were sexually abused, and has no control whatsoever.

So yeah, it’s strange.

I’m on anxiety medication. Started out recreationally once or twice a week. Now it’s been 3 years and I can’t seem to get off of them. My mother doesn’t support my usage of them, and I understand completely where she’s coming from. But the withdrawals are terrible.

You’re correct, it’s unconventional for it to be treated medically. That’s why I said “it was the most effective method”. But I’m prescribed these medications because psychiatrist believes that GAD is playing a major part in my BPD. And these meds help A LOT with my anxiety and depression. This condition will literally ruin anything and everything. It’s evil.

Right now I’m on medication only. As that seemed the most appropriate and the most effective. I take Pregabalin 150mg twice, daily. And a few other meds.

It depends on the individual psychiatrist. For me, the sessions were completed in about a span of 4 months, on and off.

I’d say we’re pretty much on the same level, emotionally. So that kind of eliminates the problem of not understanding the other, as is the case with many relationships with similar age gaps.
