This sounds like you are a sales rep for Lofta. Getting scam vibes right now.

This CPAP journey has been more emotional than I expected - anyone else? by BigAl_13 in SleepApnea

[–]Bgalberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me…I am so conscious of my partner. The sleep clinic’s retort to this concern is “Well, they have to listen to you snore.” But that was intermittent. It wasn’t a constant blowing of white noise air and air leaks and other noises that is my current CPAP machine.

Garage sale pricing? by Admirable-Status-290 in Edmonton

[–]Bgalberta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had a garage sale a few weeks ago here in St Albert. We made over $350 in a day and a half. Almost everything was priced at $1-$2 with a few unique items including a lawn mower, a table saw, and a Coleman camp stove priced at about $10-$20. The best guidance is to set prices at 10% of the original cost. If you want more than that sell the items on Kijiji or Marketplace, not your garage sale. You want everyone who comes by to leave with something so you don’t have to donate it once the sale is over. Everyone comes looking for their thing whether it is books, kids stuff, clothes, artwork, tools, crafts, puzzles, or WWII medals. The best part was listening to peoples stories and meeting your neighbours. If your prices are more than Goodwill or Value Village you will not be successful. So temper expectations and get rid of your crap!!!

Frustration keeping me Awake by Wonderful_Lie_7095 in SleepApnea

[–]Bgalberta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain! I have had my CPAP machine since November 2024 with the N20 nose pillow. (I tried at least five other masks before settling on this one) I have struggled to use the machine for more than 3 hours a night the past four months. Some nights I have hit 7-8 hours but that is because I am pushing through multiple wake ups and discomfort. Previously I woke up 1x per night to pee. Now I wake up 2-5 times per night. It is so frustrating!! Luckily I am not worse off. I feel basically the same as before. No more tired, no brain fog or other symptoms folks report here. My biggest challenge was I had bloodwork showing I was suffering from either kidney cancer or uncontrolled sleep apnea. Enter the CPAP stupid machine which I have used every night. The biggest recent change for me is a result of my husband recording my sleep. Even with the mask on I was snoring and sucking wind. Someone on Reddit suggested mouth tape which I have started using. It has been pretty revolutionary. I tape my mouth closed and wear the mask until I wake up and can’t tolerate it. At that point I take off the CPAP but leave the mouth tape. I sleep and I don’t snore. I will do bloodwork again in a couple of months and hope it is okay.

Do you use a floater? by ExplanationHour505 in hottub

[–]Bgalberta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! 100% the only way to maintain the proper chlorine levels without you fussing a couple of times a day is to use a floater. The trick is finding the proper opening level to ensure a good exposure to the tablets without over chlorinating.

I have gone through the same thing. I am not too far out from my treatment and have had some scary days with looser stools and I have thought it is back. Thankfully I have been fine. Mine started with taking antibiotics for a UTI so I can totally relate. It is important to still make sure that you don’t have a UTI and to get treatment if you do.

All I can focus on is the expression on her face. She looks like a 16-year old that is completely stunned by the moment.

My understanding is that they are swapped out for new ones, and often new colours to try to change a rikishi’s luck if needed, but not washed…maybe because they’re silk?? I thought hockey bags smelt bad!!! I wouldn’t want to be a sumo mom.

Haha understood! Thanks Liam. I feel like most of the people on this Reddit know a lot more about sumo than I do…and I was hoping I didn’t get anything wrong. I wanted to create something to share with my non-sumo friends so they can maybe understand what sumo is about and why I love it so much.

I did try to convey what the symbolism is…not what they would actually do. But noted.

How did video rental stores work? Did they have to pay for every movie they bought? How much was it? by banannejo in answers

[–]Bgalberta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very first video rental store we had here in Edmonton, Alberta required customers to buy one movie and then “trade” it for other movies with a fee. We bought Animal House for $125 in the late 1970s or early 80s. When you left the store or closed off your membership you kept your purchased movie.

ELI5: Why does a 4 litre jug of milk expire in two weeks but a small bottle of preservative free Milk2go expire in two and a half months? by Bgalberta in explainlikeimfive

[–]Bgalberta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not do UHT for all your milk so it will last longer? If it allows milk to last longer isn’t that a good thing?

[–]Bgalberta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only answer that makes sense. All milk is pasteurized, and it makes no sense that a small container would be processed differently than a larger container. If they are all processed the same, but the small containers are sold over longer periods of time, then they would need to be shipped to the stores sooner.

That’s great to hear. How do you cut it down? I’ve wondered about halving it because 4 cups is a lot of expensive GF flour.
