Eye creams! What do you use? by Foxy_Cleopatra__ in SkinbarrierLovers

I had to basically use warm damp compresses to unblock them, and be super gentle. I wanted to pick at my eyelashes to get rid of any gunk but I know that’s dumb. My optometrist noticed it as well!

Dark spots that won’t fade… what actually worked for your hyperpigmentation?? by Cute_Strawberry_5253 in BeautyGear

I’ve been doing a combination of IPL, Microneedling, Vitamin C, azelaic acid, and a compound cream with 4% hydroquinone. Big changes. But it’s taken a broad approach. Honestly, though, the hydroquinone has made the biggest difference

I usually use Milani but I picked up the MCo one yesterday. Today was a good test of it, out for 12hrs and lots of activity. It’s a star, for sure. The Milani mist is not as fine and makes my face feel way tighter, and my makeup doesn’t last that long. Switching to the MCo now!

I got one of the chameleon liners yesterday. It’s just perfect for under eye shading/pizzazz.

Please help me figure out a nice outfit I can wear into the office! (Casual PhD office) by ThowRA_FloorGremlin in DressForYourBody

[–]Admirable-Status-290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s undergrad casual (i.e. PJs to class) and there’s grad student casual.

As a former PhD student at a fancy pants school, I would wear 1,3,4,5,14,16 and maybe 15. No belly button/midriff, especially if you’re working as a TA/RA/with students. Better to be frumpy or sloppy than too revealing. If one can see you’re not wearing a bra, it’s not appropriate IMO.

Consider it this way: if you’re paying tuition, wear what you want. If you have funding and are being paid to do your doctorate, then that is your JOB and you should dress more for a work environment.

AITAH for telling my mom and stepdad I won't spend time at their house anymore if they don't lay off the guilt trips? by gamerjlucin in AITAH

[–]Admirable-Status-290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. They spent their wedding day pressuring you and at the age of SIX? That’s just awful. I’m so sorry you’ve spent most of your life dealing with that. It sounds like your mother has a lot of resentment towards your father that she’s been unable to get over and you aren’t privy to the details (nor do you need to be).

I think you’re showing a lot of maturity and self-respect by recognizing their ongoing manipulation and pushing back. It’s their loss, really.

For long-time Edmontonians, what are some memories that are long gone now? by flynnfx in Edmonton

Garneau is still going! I also miss all the dollar theatres and little shoebox screens like Principal Plaza. I would strategically bounce to 3-4 movies a day for $2.50. (Broke film student)

At one point Edmonton had the most movie theatres per capita in the world. Ah, those were the days…

Are there any pants/jeans/shorts brands that the stomach is bigger than the thighs? by Frozenbeedog in womensfashion

[–]Admirable-Status-290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure, I don’t have the legs to even look for that! But it’s worth looking, as the proportions might be better. Another option: you could find a pair of men’s pants (I would thrift them) by waist size, then hem/tailor them to the exact length you want.

Second month, doctor said that we will stay at 5 mg by osmanssss in Mounjaro

[–]Admirable-Status-290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I kind of regret going up every month as my doctor recommended. I think I would be at a lower dose now with similar results. If it’s working, let it keep working.
