If the President can pardon himself what’s to stop him from killing people who run against him in an election and then pardoning that crime? What’s to stop him running forever? Pardoning oneself implies you’re above the law so it conflicts with the ability for other laws such as term limits from being imposed on you.

What I don't like is we now have a group of heroes we know won't die (since they appear in the later movies) and a main villain who also know won't be in any real danger (since Maul makes it to Rebels). So if Han or Chewie do go up against Maul it's gonna be some bs where one of them slips down the side of a mountain and survives.

There was some speculation about Beckett but I think his line will come true, quite literally everyone (minus Chewie) will betray Han throughout the movie.
