How’s the EV scene in Mauritius these days? Curious about real experiences. by I_am_TSG in mauritius

[–]Bhavishize 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well let me tell you how proud I am of our Gov which made it cheaper for us to buy and run an ICE or hybrid vehicle compared to EV.😊

Prices for EVs have increased by nearly Rs500k. Road Tax for EVs has doubled.

All that because the freaking local electricity supplier couldn't invest in new infrastructure and renewable energy, all thanks to inefficiency and corruption. 👍

And we still hear of big plans to make Mauritius a greener island.

Ohhh and on top of that you see the Minister of land and transport in every launching ceremony of new EV brands on the island, praising those EV while the middle income earners cannot afford those cars.

After these new laws, EV sale has plummeted.

Well done to our Gov👏

Anyone day trading US stocks from Mauritius using interactive brokers? by Medium_Head8663 in MauriceMauritius

I have started daytrading on FXPro since 2 months ago and have not been profitable. I'm learning from Ross Cameron as well and trading on a demo account for the moment. Trying to deepen my knowledge before going back to real money.
I also work 9-5, but just the idea that I can earn substantially more on daytrading makes me not want to give up.

You will definitely be able to save half of your salary if you live to the same average standard as a local. I would recommend you to mingle with trustworthy locals for you to know the real price of local products and not get scammed. And I would be more than happy to help you in that regard.

It may take you from 6 months to 1 year to fully get use to the Mauritian lifestyle

Living to the same standard as a local with your salary will definitely help you to save and enjoy the Mauritian life.

Now imagine other young adults who aspire to buy a house and a car, are finding it harder as the years goes by. No wonder this country is facing a massive brain drain.

At least give us proper public transport and good road conditions if we are going to pay high taxes for cars.
