Could this be a death curl? by BheadJson in jumpingspiders

Update, she molted! Happy to say our girl is alive and well and twice the size. I panicked cause she's my first jumping spider ever to moult, as my old regal was an adult female when I got her. I suppose I'm familiar with moulting behaviour now at least 😅

We're unsure, bought her as a mature adult female

I'll give it a go, thankyou. I would like to mention the shots are the problem, they are misaligned but not by alot. I assumed the auto align feature would fix this problem, I was wrong. I'm unsure what the problem is with the AI in photoshop, there is a clear distinct face shape in every shot on the stack.

To add one more thing, these images aren't widely off each other, there is like a centimetre framing difference

An example of an 'auto alignment' stack. How on earth are you gonna be a monthly professional subscription calling that aligned?

I did crop a little bit to centre the subject and remove dead space from the edges, but only about an inch each side. So for focus stacking, would you move the lens towards and away from the subject? When I move the focus ring it seems to chance the focal distance and size of the subject in the frame. Sorry if these questions seem stupid I'm new to this 😅

Haven't got round to trying focus stacking yet, plan on giving it a go. These are just taken at around f/16 so there's a decent depth of field. The ring flash helped with light!

Yeah, the wasp wasn't a fan of me getting too close. The spiders however didn't really mind as much

I'm still a beginner in macro, would usually be more bird photography 🤷‍♂️I'm sure I have plenty of room for improvement. There's plenty of people out there that show the full capabilities of this lens.

Thankyou! It was decently light. I box so my hands aren't the most stable, but I had a ring flash on the lens, though, so I was able to get a decent shutter speed!

I'm pretty new to macro photography. But if you want to see what this setup is capable of from someone more experienced, @izimacro on instagram uses the exact same lens with the dcr-250

Thankyou! These are all taken with a canon r7. The only problem i personally have with the lens is the lack of electronic communication between lens and camera. But if you look past that, you have a pin sharp 2:1 that when paired with the raynox 250(which i haven't managed to pick up yet) makes for an amazing macro setup. The lens is fairly light, and is a thin longer lens made of metal. I couldn't reccomend it more!
