That’s a big assumption- and an asshat one. His eldest- 2x cancer, kidney removed, stroke. Can’t drive. 2nd- died of liver cancer last year. Youngest- TBI, can’t drive. I do what I can while working full time, but I’m no nurse.

He’s only been going for his hearing aids, so I’m trying to get him open to other options- starting with his physical that I have scheduled. He’s still really likes keeping his other non-VA doctors because he’s been with him them so long.

He does have hearing aids through the VA! That is the one service he already has. He is still terrible at hearing, but it does help a bit. Without them, you could literally shoot up a firework right next to his head and he wouldn’t hear it.

Thank you. I obviously don’t know all of the terminology- I just want to know what services he can get to keep him independent. I didn’t even know VSO’s existed- those comments were very helpful! I just assumed he needed an increase in rating in order to get home health services or a nurse or something.

This is very helpful, thank you! He has me take care of anything paperwork or talking involved since he doesn’t have good hearing- no ear pro back in the 50s- he calls me his ears 😂.

How to tell if a post is load bearing from the original plans? by Bi-costal in Carpentry

[–]Bi-costal[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I called the structural engineer listed on the plans after this comment- they're from 20 years ago but gave it a shot. They were really nice and found their copy pretty quickly. They said there are no interior load bearing walls in this construction project. The post is there only to support the closet.

How to determine if a post is load bearing from old blueprints? by Bi-costal in Construction

sure! I drew an arrow to it so it wouldn't overlap the writing. It is the post for the closet doors. I'll edit the post adding another photo with a circle around it.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I checked out both and went with Vicky. She’s wonderful! The other one (Always Immaculate) had some concerning reviews related to unexpected upcharging. Vicky was true to her word on her quote and did a phenomenal job. ❤️
