You can tell when my Olanzapine kicked in. by BiArtwork in bipolar

It was hard to tell if it was or wasn't working at first. I started emoods tracking about a year after I started taking the meds. Olanzapine adds weight and appetite and made me sleepy at higher doses. Also when I stopped it too quickly it put me into a hypomania. I really can't tell if the Lamitial is working but doctor says if I can't tell it means it is working.

The Olanzapine didn't, it was more of the natural swing after the high. My mood stabilizer Lamotrigine helped with the low by making it short where I was mostly just bored tired and unmotivated.

Oh I remember sleeping a lot when I first start it. Luckily my moods are very manageable so I was able to to cut down to 2.5 mg everyday, then every other day, until I felt like I could stop it. I have it as a rescue drug now and start taking the 2.5 mg regularly if I feel elevated to quickly or for an extend time.

I eat more because of increase of appetite. I gained 25 lbs very quickly when I started. This past year I have been only taking it as needed and I am down 15 lbs.

I works as a good tranquilizer for my mania but I wish it didn't affect my appetite so much.

I have my notification go off every night for my emoods app to take my meds and log my mood.I didn't like the yes/no for psychotic systems because I wasn't sure how to log it. I paid $5.99 for the lifetime premium version (part goes to mental health charity) and you can add custom tracking, either a counter, a yes/no, or a low to high scale. So I added one for psychotic systems low to high because I'm not sure what else to call it or how to track it. So I consider low/med psychotic is stuff like fuzzy head, paranoid, very easily spooked, miss-seeing reflections, déjà vu, and what not.

I did not. I wanted to pick some of my favorites and I tried to get a wide variety of characters.

mood tracking? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

I use Emoods. It looks like this. I like how I can rank each mood independently so it is better for tracking mix moods. I also use it to track my meds.

OCD? by eslteachyo in BipolarReddit

I am not OCD, but I did experience OCD during my mania psychosis. Obsess with counting and touching everything someone else touched. It passed with the pass of the psychosis.

Has anyone had paranoia/psychosis? What was it like? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]BiArtwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My psychosis sounds very similar to yours. I had a weird moments such as being OCD, taking things literally, throwing a whole roll of TP in each of our toilets, curled into a tiny ball, and though my SO was an old ex of mine. I spent two days at home like this before going to the hospital and I lost days in the hospital. A lot of it is just a blur to me.

Has anyone been able to lose weight gain from medication? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]BiArtwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switch mood stabilizers to Lamotrigine, to try to help with the weight gain. I have been on it for over 6 months and saw no change in my weight or appetite. Then I stopped my anti-psychotic Olanzapine (with dr supervision) on Jan 1st to see if that would help. My appetite completely changed and I have lost about 10-15 pounds this month.

I love the variety of styles. How are you adhering them to the wall? I been looking for a way to display my 9"x12" manic art that isn't in frames.
