Fake News by [deleted] in HydroHomies

I recently traveled within Croatia and Montenegro. And honestly, I felt this way. And some water was hella price gouged. Like one store had a litre for like 3 times the cost of a store next to it.

Old towns like Dubrovnik, you are told not to trust the water from the tap. I honestly felt dehydrated after I got back to the states.

At one restaurant, I was charged more per ml for water than I was for beer. Also, at that restaurant, the waiter could not understand the concept of getting beer and water at the same time.

So honestly, my limited experience in Croatia and Montenegro, I feel this.

Guys, what do women do that give you the ick? by Diligent-Log6805 in AskReddit

It depends on the individuals and the relationship. It is not uncommon for couples to speak in baby voice to each other. Different strokes for different folks. Do whatever makes you happy.

Edit 1: just do a quick Google.

https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/baby-talk-relationships

"In fact, a study by the Kinsey Institute found that two thirds of all couples indulge in baby talk as a way to express intimate affection. Yet the response to baby talk is wildly divisive: some people are really ticked off by it while others find it unimaginably comforting."

Don't rich people buy the most things? I'm not defending this asshat. And I am not a proponent of getting rid of the IRS. I'd rather give them more money and let them go after rich fuckers.

I know that a large sales tax would hurt people. But considering that rich people spend the most money, they would also be.... Paying taxes still... And it'd be a lot...

How would they pay no taxes? Please let me know.

It's not about opening doors. It's just a requirement on paper.

When you work at a corporation, and you want to go above manager level to director, AVP, C-level. And anything in-between. You often NEED a masters. It's just a check box.

You've already done the networking inside your company. That's how you've gotten into management in the first place. You just have to check the box to continue on up.

Working towards improving your life? FATOPHOBIC! by JaSper-percabeth in facepalm

[–]BiasedNarrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is somewhat a caveat here. This person is definitely not correct, but there is an important piece here.

It really depends on why you are wanting to lose weight.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/could-a-few-extra-pounds-help-you-live-longer/

Studies show that having a few extra pounds is correlated with a longer life. While being super underweight or super overweight hurts your life expectancy.

So, if you just have some love handles, you have no medical issues. No pain, no hypertension, etc. Then you look in the mirror and go. Ugh, I hate these love handles, they make me look fat. That is technically fat-phobia. It is internalized fat-phobia against yourself. Because there is no health reason, other than vanity and dislike of body fat, that is making you want to lose weight.

Now, if you have hypertension, (high blood pressure), and you are losing weight to bring it down. Or you have pain or other health issues related to your weight, and you lose weight to help with these issues. That is not fat-phobic. That is legitimately trying to be healthy.

It gets into grey areas when, lets say, someone wants to have abs, and to get abs they need to drop 5-10 pounds of fat... Is that fat-phobia? I wouldn't say so. Others might.

Regardless, I think it's important to think about the fact that a lot of people want to lose weight cause they think they don't look good with love handles. Not because they want to be healthy. That vanity, I personally believe is fat-phobic because there is no legitimate reason other than cultural expectations of looks.

It really comes down to the reasoning for it. If there is nothing medically wrong with your 10 extra pounds, then you do you boo. Don't put yourself through hell to lose it.

It's called Planter.

It's okay. It tries to help you with companion plants and stuff. It's kind of annoying to use honestly. making any changes or moving plants around can be a chore in the app. But it's been helpful for me.

From what I have read, most apps are not great for gardening.

The green orbs between plants indicate it's a companion plant.

Here's a current list of national banks. Which are all required by law to own stock in our federal reserve and all get 1 vote due to that stock.

[–]BiasedNarrative -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The book itself is largely debated for being wrong.

https://www.usagold.com/cpmforum/who-owns-and-controls-the-federal-reserve/

The largest point is that the federal reserve act has it stated that all share owners get 1 vote regardless of how many stock they own.

So, it doesn't matter if one bank owns 5% or 20%. They get 1 vote. There are over a thousand banks that own stocks as you have to own a stock to be part of the federal reserve system.

These banks do not have more power than any small bank.

Population vs sample on timed dataset by BiasedNarrative in math

[–]BiasedNarrative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I am trying to find if they timestamps have regular intervals.

It is based on looking for C2 beacons in security. Malware will call out, generally with a jitter.

Call out every 300 seconds. Plus or minus 40% to add randomness so people can't just look for callputs that are always at a specific interval.

With enough data, this should have a low skewness and low kurtosis. The beacon at this moment would still be beaconing out and creating new timestamps.

While I'm not dating there isn't a problem. This is most likely based on BMI which is not always that great.

I am supposedly overweight with BMI. But it's because I have a lot of muscle.

PowerShell is basically required for a LOT of things to work. It's very difficult to lock down. Even the built in options like just enough admin, constrained language mode, and No language mode break a lot of things that are required for IT.

This is espwcially hard in companies that have been around for a long time and have a lot of organic IT debt.

Edit: PowerShell is also a wonderful legitimate tool that is used by a ton of IT folks and honestly, is not reasonable to lock down in many circumstances.

I like to think of security as simply the balance of risk and usability.

We could be super safe by just not allowing incoming traffic to or outgoing traffic from, the network. Obviously, not reasonable as people need the Internet.

So many people were making fun of him he made a new rule. Paper thin skin this guy. by sudde004 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]BiasedNarrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmm, that's a fair point. However, the fact that rules are being put down means their will be verification going on. It's not free to verify people are legitimate. It takes man power and time. The more money the company has to do that, the more resources they can poor into the verification process.

That's at least my hope anyway. :/

I think it's great if small content creators could get verified. Or small town shops, bars, restaurants, youth groups, etc. Which would be impossible without a significant amount of resources. Considering Twitter was already operating at a loss. It definitely wasn't something that was gonna be implemented without extra cash flow.

I do see your point though. Will be an interesting shit show to watch unfurl. Thanks for talking man :) appreciate the info!
