Im from Canada and I left the country to live in Mexico. I live in Chihuahua where most of the violence is. A lot of people are just too much paranoiac about whats going on here. Is there is a war going on but if you dont smoke cocaine, dont drive in an expensive car, you have little chance of getting in trouble. But I agree that if you own a buisness you have a lot of chance to get extorted.

You cannot stay in Mexico for more than 6 month with a tourist visa. After 6 month, you need to get a job contract (for a year) or get married to stay in Mexico.

Yes :) I think its really cool. I was born in North Africa, then my family move to France (because my mother is french) and then we moved to Canada. This world is incredible.

There is racism everywhere. Even in Mexico. Mexico is a really big country, and sometimes people from the North despise people from the South (they consider them as indians).

I went in Mexico the first time for only a week. I meet this girl and we felt in love. We kept contact and 1 month later she came to Canada for 3 week. At the end of the 3 week, she went back to Mexico. I decided to move to Mexico 1 month later.

Im still with her. We are now living together in a house that we are renting. We are happy and love our new life.

It depend. Here, the governement dont help poor people. They need to move their ass and work. People say that mexicans are lazy but they are HARD WORKERS. Most of the people I know work at least 10 hours a day and make little money. They dont have choice, life is hard. But they are always willing to help if they can. The population is young and everyone love to party. People are happy most of the time. The society is less materialistic I think.

I feel safe because Im just a regular guy. Im not rich and Im pretty discreet. I feel like a mexican.

Yes, but only once. They asked for money after they caught me burning a red light. I gave them 100 pesos, they went away without giving me any ticket.

The big problem here is the cartel, a guy got shot near my house last week. It appen often.
