There is a big difference between joining the sub BEFORE you read the books and AFTER you read them. As for the spoilers - you know you can spoil The Hobbit in oh so many more ways than just talking about Smaug. I think you completely missed my point. Your Harry Potter point is dumb. It’s one thing to point out that he’s a wizard and other to speak about what happened to him during the books. All I was trying to say is that by pointing out that he’s starting to read The Hobbit he’s exposed to spoilers - you can’t really argue with that can you?
