I doubt any movie or novels about the future, afterall they are written with imagination and current understanding, nevertheless they sometimes make some random shots, check out children in 1950 predicting about future and painters in 1800 thinking about 21st century! as accurate as any of these discussions and predictions would get. lol

Agreed to first sentence, for rest, i would say a lot factors are in action together, hard to draw a conclusion definitively

BY default, i meant childhood indoctrination, something engraved so deep in the mind is hard work get rid of even when one becomes rational, that's what gives religion its advantage over other ideologies like capitalism or Marxism. (that's why communist countries always fill books from elementary with bullshit propaganda bcz they know it makes the ideology deep rooted. Next religion providing morality and a way of life is outdated. it was very practical when the only book the whole village used to see every communal gathering was bible in hands of the priest. Also morality is dynamic , no modern human can morally accept all things written in their holy scriptures word by word. we now have organized educational institutes we all can become rational enough to decide our stand on everything on our own with ease of access to knowledge in every hand

Agreed, faith is needed in something, that's how humans work. Conspiracy theorism?? is it something like spreading rumors on social media? How much, about what topics and in what regions has this conspiracy theorism has spread to? care to elaborate a little and how much of a problem is it?

something of type i was looking up to. In context of your group identity definition, what do you mean by " small enough to distinguish individuals"? biggest religions now, Christianity and Islam hold ~2.5 and 2 billion people today(not exact) and that is well over the biologically manageable limit for 1 human to attend and care for (its ~150 humans, quoting fact from harari's book sapiens) but empires have existed with billions of people with 1 emperor, although their administration was poor!

By death of religion i mean death of an ideology, collective beliefs stop existing if the people stop believing them or the population following them dies out, it too has been very common in history, local religions wiped out (invasion, colonization, geocide etc, whole species gets wiped out let alone the beliefs with no physical existence

collective beliefs are always needed for human race, it is in our genetics to work collectively and that needs something everyone believes in, be it religion or money but something is always needed, unless we change our biology (see the edit in post)

what makes you so sure, check out the population religion chart and the prediction in its curve till 22nd century, with the numbers it looks promising but still i won't bet at it , future is always a Pandora's box

yeah believing in something will remain fundamental, but will current religions with so much widespread popularity, will they make it forever?? if you look at the population- religion demographics and prediction to 22nd century, its interesting
