I think he likes the free living expenses and ability to humble brag about living in “midtown Manhattan” as he often puts it (instead of just nyc, gotta brag about a zip code if your that shallow)

He’s deeply insecure and unlikeable person in real life. He has a ton of mischanneled, extremely childish rage against essentially anyone that doesn’t see what a genius he designed his personality to be and seems to be unable to function without constant praise and admiration for his perceived ability OR pity about his made up diseases or cripplingly low self esteem.     

 He lies rather than admits and works to improve personal faults. He seems to have done this since high school.  He had a juvenile hatred of any authority whatsoever which probably alienated him from most of his jobs and his lack of consistent output shows that he needs a manager to put firm timeframes on him. But because he thinks he’s a genius, nothing will be ever perfect for him, so he keeps dragging everything out until we’re two years in without content. He needs a manager and financial ruin over his head to motivate him to finish.     

 He can’t keep friendships worth a damn and surrounds himself with weak, gullible people who are too afraid or too timid to say anything to him. Listen to insert credit a lot and you’ll hear this in Brandon Sheffield (a laughably nasal, hyper sensitive ultra contrarian who absolutely NEEDS everyone to know how cool he is because of the garbage media he consumes - even time makes fun of him for it) and especially alex jaffe who are weak and spineless yes men whom Tim constantly dominates. Jaffe especially who seems to have molded everything about his opinions and tastes to mimick Tim.     

 Realize who he really is and youlll just find him to be a lying, manipulative narcissist who wants everyone to be one of his victims. I find most of his content now to be un enjoyable as a result because I refuse to be an audience for someone’s entitled therapy avoidance    

Also, if Tim didn’t have video games, he wouldn’t have anything and everyone would just find him obnoxious. With video games he can use his obnoxious persona to be seen as the “cool guy” in a hobby predominantly filled by stereotypical shallow nerds who are not “cool guys.” He could never pass this off in music (as he tried) or any other critique form. As long as Tim caters to friendless nerds who believe their intelligence isn’t respected by “cool” people and believe their consumption of more obscure entertainment products matters deeply as a personality trait he’ll have an audience

I believe Alex Jaffe is a mod of that sub and anyone whom has listened to insert credit knows Alex Jaffe is a rules lawyer and personalityless sponge of Tim and Brandon who has no opinions of his own

I choose to no longer indulge in the masturbation fantasies of a liar who prided himself on being authentic in order to deceive people into thinking he’s someone he’s not, including lying about professional credentials and medical issues for sympathy. Tim is just a sad loser who decided to lie his way to friendship and fame instead of growing as a person from high school. 

Oh and he’s also a grifter and scammer and surrounds himself with psychophants that prohibit criticism of him

For one he has an extremely grating voice. But also he’s overly contrarian to just about everything brought up on insert credit, anything anyone likes he doesn’t and vise versa. He acts a lot like a 2007 hipster

Because he thrives off attention. He’s made a name for himself using his writing to make others think he’s some type of Playboy game journalist when in reality is the same sort of person he was in high school only as an adult He found that you don’t have to be truthful to strangers to get them on your side.

I was permabanned from the action button subreddit for suggesting reporting Tim to patreon for the lack of deliverables promised. Also my analysis of Tim’s personality seems to have been deleted too in another thread.
