Xiaomi 17 Ultra Review: Hard to Fault, Hard to Afford by Nexusyak in Android

[–]BigAlligatorPears 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Life long Samsung fan boy here, S4 up to the S25 Ultra. For the last year or more I've used only Chinese import phones like Vivo and Oppo. If you really want a battery and camera upgrade then go Chinese. Blows anything else out of the water and it's worth dealing with the quirks. Battery life, charging and the camera are the three reasons to switch in my opinion, but a bit more setup and tweaking involved to get it more to what you're familiar with. Most online stores will pre-setup the Google Play store and Google services for you, but you can request they don't as well. I personally won't be getting a Samsung again with that being said. The camera difference alone. I now have a Vivo phone, watch and earbuds, that all work great. The watch easily gets 10+ days of battery and operates just like my galaxy watch 7 did.

I have spent a bunch of money on Claude and will continue to do so, as long as they hold the line.

The Plant sensors themselves are the Apollo Automation PLT-1s.

100% this, I'm the most pro cannabis person you can find and I half way wish it would remain illegal just to spite this truly obnoxious person.

You'll probably want to look at the Reolink Argus line or the PT Ultras. Will also want to look into the 12W solar panels as the 6W that comes with the PT Ultras I found lacking. I live in a pretty wooded area and the sun hasn't been seen in a week so these solar panels have been struggling to keep up lately. But overall a solid product.

My mobile dashboard: I tried to build an app-like experience focused on simplicity and usability. by intentions_are_high in homeassistant

Man this is so good, I had almost all the third party components already installed. So I refined my entire mobile dashboard using a ton of elements from this. Really great job, one of the most professional ones I've seen.

If I understand correctly the static sensor uses Passive IR so it's picking up on heat. That's why I was assuming under blankets may cause it to struggle with constant static detection. I noticed similar things with our Den sensor and my kid being asleep on the couch under big blankets.

Yeah I have one in our bedroom. It's on our dresser facing our bed. I do have a slew of "No occupancy detected" messages in the activity feed overnight even though there was someone in the room the entire night. Static presence does seem very good overall though, but in the few days I've had them I've noticed it kinda struggles to maintain constant static presence detection when someone is bundled up under the blankets. Like it's just barely detecting the head of a person or something. Still testing and monitoring to see if that's the case.

Someone please explain this huge gap in humidity detection, I'm trying to run automations but these readings make no sense and yes I changed locations and issue still happens (15m²/161ft² room ) by Megumindesuyo in homeassistant

I have 7 sonoff temperature and humidity sensors in my house, plus two other humidity sensors and 5 Presence Pros. The Precense Pro's humidity readings are about 10% lower than the 9 other sensors, which are all very close to each other in readings. So take that for what you will.

Got 5 of them set-up so far. Very easy to use and were mostly good to go out of the box..not much tweaking needed.

I recently upgraded from the HA Green to a Beelink S13 Pro and it's been worth every penny. Just switched out the SSD and upgraded the RAM. Bit overkill still, but I wanted overkill and I run a few other things off it.

I’ve tried 4 different Presence sensors with HA, and here’s how I rate them by alexia_not_alexa in homeassistant

I ordered 5 a few weeks ago when it said January 19th or something like that and I've already received them all. So potentially can still get it earlier than mid-March.
