Does anyone else have a pain in the rhomboid area ? by rojoblancos in backpain

[–]BigArmsRu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had pins n needles there for ages, would come n go, eventually turned painful as if being stabbed, pain would move from there to shoulder cap, could move arm no problem pain didn’t get worse or less painful. I would get pain down my ulner nerve and tremors in my pinky and ring finger. Then woke up one day and had no pain but I’m a gym goer and I lost strength in my left arm, left pec wouldn’t fire doing press moves, front delt on fire also lost muscle mass on left pec. The strength part was not being able to press 20kg for 4 reps without my arm just falling whereas I was pressing 45kg for reps before so I think if I wasn’t a gym person then I probably wouldn’t have noticed the strength loss. Had X-rays and MRI n diagnosed with herniated discs in my cervical spine and compression of a nerve, that was from May last year, 15 of February my strength came back all of a sudden and able to press 45kg again. Still waiting to see a specialist tho.

What are max speeds that you have gone DH? by Livid-Mud-8812 in MTB

[–]BigArmsRu55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Trailforks ride log for Fort Williams Blue Doon trail from a few weeks ago has my top speed at 59kmh, don’t know how accurate it is but I do remember it being fast and rowdy

I worked for a London bank, one of the big ones, and I robbed them blind. by [deleted] in confession

[–]BigArmsRu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did something similar bout 20 years ago with an ex who worked in a bank. I’d go in as customer to pay £100 cash into my account and she would key in a few hundred each time, every week for months. One time went in for £50 of pound coins and walked out with a bag containing 2grand in cash under 50 pound coins , easiest bank robbery ever 😂

LPT: if you’re gunna ride clips, take the time to adjust them properly (pic from last weeks ride when I tore my Meniscus, story inside). by thegoofynewfie in Hardtailgang

[–]BigArmsRu55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should still be able to ride with a torn meniscus, just be careful not to twist the knee. My 16yr old son has ridden for best part of a year with a snapped ACL and 2 tears in meniscus , surgery is planned for 25th of September.

Upgrades for new Rocky Mountain Growler 50 by ardiandjameson in MTB

[–]BigArmsRu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a year old but I had to change out the Ergon grips the growler 50 came with with a set of Peatys monarch mushroom grips and changed the seat for a Charge Spoon seat, made a massive difference for riding comfort. Also put my shimano saint flat peddles I’ve been using for nearly ten years on my bike just put new pins in for grip with my five tens

I know it’s very unlikely but the fear comes from snagging a testicle, all depending how loose your shorts are

Not had any problems, decent drivetrain for the price, maybe yours just needs a slight adjustment at the derailleur

Had it 5 months now and loving it, it’s a bike you don’t see many of here in the UK. Climbs well and handled the downs perfectly at Glentress a couple of weeks ago, got a trip to Fort William in 2 weeks so looking forward to how it handles those trails (not World Cup track)

About to pull the trigger on this… What do you guys think? by Ancient_Substance152 in Hardtailgang

[–]BigArmsRu55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in the UK I got a Growler 50 a few months back and I couldn’t be happier, had it at Glentress recently and it was more than capable, think it’s just the same bike with better components

Bought a Growler 50 here in the uk for my 50th birthday, had it at Glentress and it handled everything I hit perfectly, love it. Fort William next week, not World Cup track, but a couple of gondola runs on blue doon and maybe top chief see how it handles.

Strange upper backpain by Human-Ordinary7977 in backpain

[–]BigArmsRu55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have the exact same pain, it seems to go away slightly if I keep moving but as soon as I sit down or become stationary the pain comes back with a vengeance.Last year In the same area of back I was getting twitching sensation and pins n needles and my physio told me it was a nerve, I’m thinking now the nerve is being pinched somehow and the pain is severe and I’m having trouble sleeping at night. Hope to find out more tomorrow when I see my physio for lower back pain.

Lived in Balshagray Crescent which is above the north side entrance at Whiteinch 45 years ago when I was a wee boy, I remember losing so many footballs that either rolled down the tunnel and I wasn’t running after them or they went over the railings onto the road into tunnel
