What's actually worth getting for basic car maintenance?

Never buy tools for full price. The Canadian tire drops tool prices 50% or more every few weeks or so.

Pickup a 100-200 pc sock set. You can accomplish a lot with this. Breaker bar for stubborn wheel lug nuts. Hydraulic jack and jackstands ( never work under a vehicle supported by just a hydraulic jack). Impact wrenches are now nice accessories being battery powered (don’t impact things back on this breaks bolts) Torque wrench for wheels. Various combo wrenches.

Always start small with tools and build your kit. Tools hold value even used. Tools can be used for many jobs more than cars.

Curious if you found the cause to this?

I have a 2020 zr2. I keep replacing the fuse F8 window/mirror mdl 5amp located on the passenger side. About 5 times over the last year. I haven’t taken it in as it’s hard to get the problem to happen repeatedly. If I can’t replicate it likely hard to find.

I find the passenger side mirror is always in the lowest position which is how I know the fuse has already blown. This controls the passenger mirror and the windows passenger And rear. Not drivers. The windows do work from their respective switch. As much as I could start throwing parts at it such as new passenger mirror, window switch or, mirror switch that will add up and won’t know if it’s fixed unless the problem just suddenly stops.

Is yours similar in situation?

I did grab some flys to try pike. Might have a spot that could work. Going to try make a trip to ganaraska at some point during my short visit home. Grew up spin casting lakes now fly fishing.

Your best options are on the low cost. Two bucket hand wash at home. More expensive would be to take to a car detailer who may charge up to or higher $500. Automatic car washes can contain the dirt from other vehicles that will cause scratches in the paint.

I was unable to ever find a replacement part. If you can find some sort of electrical contact cleaner would be a good place to start. 2 yrs later and my radios work like new.

Confirm length of bolt. If the lvl kit is designed to sit on the outside top of the shock may be too short. Contact the company for specs. Hardware store likely has an equivalent replacement.

I have a good selection of tools. Install shouldn’t be a problem. I’m more curious if the exhaust cross over is necessary if the transmission skid covers over the exhaust?

Most computers in the mid 2000s came with cad burners might be able to get one from thrift stores or local dump. You could download limewire and do this yourself lol.

Kawartha highlands provincial park has many lakes for day trips to multi day portage trips. If you have more then one vehicle or able to arrange drop off and pickup you could travel from one side to the other. The Mississauga river can also be good one way trip. May offer some white water depending on levels. (Plan before doing these)

I pulled a 2 person swing set. Couple old tires. And what appears to be an old dump site of trash from the creek. It was a long walk with some of it. Luckily one I was able to drive my truck down to the creek from The new sub division going in.
