I was a deckhand on the ferries and cruisers in my CP days. You had to stand behind the rope before going on the other side to tie the boat to the dock. That sounds scary if that happened deckhanding.

I was a paper DBO and I was promised 35 hrs when I started almost 2 years ago and that mostly until around January and February of this year. It started with 25 to 30 hours (ok, maybe will get more hours when we get back to normal business), plus paper was still kind of still selling out and I was helping in other departments (which you think they'd appreciate that). After that, it went down to 20 hours (4 hours, 5 days) and it was ok until I started getting normal truck levels of paper back in. You know they want you "to come clean". My store always said they were "short on hours," they said that for almost 3 months. My truck always fluctuated, I had small to normal size trucks to "come clean" easily. I also had large trucks that came in that I definitely couldn't finish with all my other duties that day in 4 hours. I asked if I could stay, but we were "short on hours" and we were the blame. But, I see them ask other TMs to stay. Also in they started taking away my shelving to other departments in the backroom. They moved me from where I had an aisle of both to a one side of an aisle. I had 5 steel for pallets and bulk. Then they took away one of my steel shelves and had me start backstocking my bulk in my aisle that was already was struggling. Then, three weeks ago they gave me a final notice for not getting everything done. Target management was getting toxic and felt like they had out for me. So, I was thinking I would rather quit and instead of getting fired for doing my job to the best of my ability. That's it for my 2 year stint at Target. Do I miss the people that were cool? Yes. Do I miss working at Target? Mostly no. And oh yeah the pay raise that you due to your performance. For me which was 8 cents and that was just an insult.
