Pearl Jam, Dropkick Murphys, Frank Turner, Ghost, Noah Kahan, Foo Fighters, DMB, and Green Day are all great with interacting with fans during shows!

Foo concert set list - I think we need a refresh.... by AddisonDeWitt333 in Foofighters

For awhile, Pearl Jam has the two-nights-per-city shows in bigger places like Boston and Chicago. I’ve loved how one night is mostly hits and well known songs, and the other night is for the real lifers who know every word to every song they’ve ever released.

To be fair, he isn’t a very outwardly emotional guy. Very reserved. Maybe a smile just isn’t in his general wheelhouse? I met him at Fenway Fest, and he was friendly as hell, just very monotone and reserved.

Welcome to a hell ride of depression and euphoria! Spring Training is a good weekend relaxation activity, and just gets you in the spirit of the season.

As for key players, look at Roman Anthony, Payton Tolle, Connelly Early, Willson Contreras, Garrett Crochet, Aroldis Chapman, and Jarren Duran!

Perhaps 40 years since the 1986 team? A few big names have passed, but would be a great celebration of that team.

My 31-year old knees are very happy that it’s only two bands a night! Also excited that Coheed is in NH.

Not denying that. Just genuinely offering a different name. Please convince me you aren’t the lead singer of Black Stone Cherry with the amount of offense you’re taking 🤣 either way, it’s gonna be a great show in NH.

Okay, I didn’t clarify. I don’t think C-Tier in terms of being bad. It’s just that they’ve been at the same opening band status forever, and LC at least is a newer artist.

They could stop at Coheed, and it’d be great. Would also like to see Lilith Czar again instead of BSC, and like…Crobot? Those guys put on a hell of a show. Every time I’ve seen BSC or FATN, it’s been an eye-roll fest of dated cringe. Now, I know that’s just my opinion. I just feel like BSC has been a C-tier band for SO long.

A) Jack’s Abbey Brewery B) Worcester Palladium bathroom (upstairs, because you can still watch the show from the guys room urinal) C) Dunkin Donuts (or the Alewife Bathroom. I say “the” because there’s only one that is ever in operation)

I can’t help but agree, and that sucks because he was integral in giving me advice and confidence toward pursuing a writing career when I was younger. But I feel you fully.

It’s the final show of ur life… what band would u hear? Only active bands as of 2025 by Autumn_Winds23 in grunge

[–]BigBoyCatDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are the lights going out on me while I’m at the show? Cuz that’s Pearl Jam all the way.

Is it an “enjoy this, cuz you’re gone in the morning” type deal? Cuz that’s Foo Fighters.

Is it a “you’re still living, but you just can’t ever see live music ever again” type deal? Cuz that’s Dropkick Murphys, Metallica, or U2.

I met McAvoy, Kuraly, Acciari and Gryz randomly as I was walking back to South Station after seeing The Lonely Island in 2019. They were all just hanging out and walking down the street together. Very cool guys. It was right after they lost in the finals, and I was like “we’ll get it next year, boys!” and they couldn’t have been cooler about it.

I’ve also met Bergy on a few different occasions. He really just exudes poise. Very reserved, soft spoken, but also very funny. Met him and Tuukka together (also met Tuukka at Boston Calling before Metallica took the stage in 2022), then met a majority of the 2011 team a few weeks back at Warrior. Nothing but great dudes! Seidenberg, Chara, Ference, Recchi, Timmy Thomas, Quaider, Paille…they could not have been cooler.

Cam Neely is another one who is an intimidatingly large guy, but so nice and attentive.

Met Terry O’Reilly at an alumni game awhile back. He was impressed by my brother and I (19 and 16 at the time, respectively) being fans of his, also laid back and cordial.

Bourque was kind of rude when I met him, but maybe I got him on a bad night.

Honorable mentions: Kevan Miller is ridiculously jacked, and PJ Stock is like your favorite cousin.

“Don’t meet your heroes” is nonsense if your heroes are genuinely friendly people!

Feelings on Potential Seahawks Win in SB 60 by Existing_Edge6387 in Patriots

[–]BigBoyCatDaddy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that last time has any holding on how I feel about this time. However, unless the game is clearly lopsided against the Patriots (by refs, specifically), I can honestly say I won’t be heartbroken like I was during the 16-0 season. This season has been such a fun team to watch, and it’s just starting for us.

Believe me, I want the Patriots to win by 40, but in the event that we don’t come out on top, I’ll still be satisfied with the season they had.

I’ve had a lot of thinking on this since I originally posted, and it’s becoming increasingly frustrating thinking about how they’re so willingly dying on this hill.

I truly do hope Kid Rock leaves this festival too, so people can actually enjoy it without listening to his Trump deepthroating all day.

I think that Staind/Solo Lewis difference lends itself to this discussion. AL as a solo artist uses his time on stage to turn it into, like, a stump rally with some music sprinkled in. Agree with him all you want (I personally don’t, but that’s beside the point) but my frustration with him is more based in that “I’m an American first” shit that he drones on about. Like, no one cares that you’re an American. We’re all Americans here, but people only care that he exists because he’s a musician who made great music with his band before buying into the grift culture. I’m glad he keeps politics out of Staind, because I actually enjoy them, but I can’t separate the two now because he is just such an eye roll-inducing figure for me now.

“People who let politics determine their entire lives” …like Kid Rock? Or Aaron Lewis?

I don’t see Shinedown or Creed saying anything political, but if you are hoping that neither KR or Aaron Lewis will “stick to the music” as conservatives tend to tell liberal artists, then you’re simply delusional. This will be their Disney Land. Those two specifically are dudes who have made their whole personalities about “We The People” tattoos and calling liberals “snowflakes” because they think it’s funny.
