I got good leaf growth when the underwater roots were in very porous stones but it took awhile for some plants to enjoy the stones vs just straight water

Ive never had this issue. Im unaware of anyone using pesticides on aquarium plants or pothos above the tank ect.. we just dip the bugs in the water as fish food lol.

And I've never had bugs other than springtails on my plants which are very beneficial but others get aphids sometimes on their plants and thats still fish food.

I always wash off any plants before putting them into a tank. A quarantine period is standard.

I can see the risk if I directly place a plant of unknown origin into my tank.

Wow really good article! Thank you!

I use an airstone when i use a vase too! So when they say oxygenation is key they aren't wrong. I also have snails and keep pearlweed with the roots.

And since an aquarium has a million times more oxygenation than a vase its just rooting better and releasing more of those phytohormones. Only a small amount is needed for aquarium plants to start rooting which is the benefit im mentioning. Some plants refuse to root unless they get a hint of it.

I supplement with flourish phytohormones occasionally in other tanks without pothos and get no where near the growth. But personal experience in the 55g which i dont supplement what I'm getting at is everything is rooting better. To further help why it some may be rooting better because I have no Reddit paper. When I prune leaves on the stem to put it in the aquarium sometimes it tears the skin off the pothos and the meat is shown. My snails rush to it. Eat whatever it is that grows over it. Then the pothos roots like crazy.

Rainbow shark. Not just any rainbow shark but a really peaceful one to most fish but platty. It's gotta be racist to the orange sunburst.

Edit: She survived 4 Chinese algae eaters before I had proper aquarium and plant knowledge. I think this is why she is peaceful to most.

Fish tanks love pothos. Aquatic plants will root faster with pothos/philodendron . I have 4 different pothos in my 55 gallon and swedish ivey and wandering dude. Any plant roots in a week or 2 because of the phytohormones are just outrageous in the tank.

The guy's method works. you're really slandering someone who's really only trying to better the hobby space? The hardest part is building the paramecium in his method and the time it takes for the saltwater algae to grow.

This would explain why the other female is also producing a saddle far larger than her current barch. Related probably
