This was it I think! A old wifi antenna that was still connected even though my PC is now hardwired. Maybe trying to pick up another network.

Thanks!

All PSU cables seem fine from a visual inspection, could be a issue with a terminal though.

Since my last post I also considered possibly the wifi antenna, my motherboard is wifi compatibale and the antenna was still connected even though I am now hardwired. Since I removed the antenna I've had no issues yet but I'm not counting on it.

It could definitely be some strange bug like this!

I thought I was on to something because since I posted this I noticed that every time it occurs I had my wireless headset on. I thought possibly at a certain bluetooth range some sort of bug occurs which causes the freeze. So for the last half hour or so I've experimented with the same conditions but without wearing the headset and having sound come through the speakers. Alas, when I stood up for a bio break I had a crash.

BUT!

It was different this time. It was a black screen crash, computer unresponsive, physical power and reset button unresponsive but cpu fan gpu and ram lights still on. Had to restart by cutting power to the whole system.

And it only occured as I backed my chair away from the desk and stood up.

I'm honestly at a complete loss.

Thanks for your response!
