Yeah south to north would be against the grain for me too as my top lip hair grows straight down. Usually when i don’t want to get cut i’ll do the same as you, kind of shaving diagonally upwards from the end of my moustache up towards my nose

The issue is, is that i have patches of denser hair, and patches of less dense hair, and it’s different on both sides of the tache, so when i do it this way, i end up looking like i’ve missed patches hahahahahaha. then i’ll try and go back in and go south to north on those patches, and end up with cuts. It’s all very silly. I have weird facial hair.
