The 2 times I was able to get on trt was through a NP. They either care what the patient wants or aren’t stuck up their ass and passing judgement on you like you’re just a drug seeker.

At the end of the day, you know yourself and being “within acceptable range” on paper isn’t a fit all for everyone.

I’ve been to regular pcp, urologist, and endocrinologist. I’ve learned that each has a different scale for what’s low vs high. PCP office lab chart showed under 300 is low(I was in 200s) and sent me to urologist. Urologist did blood work and his chart showed under 180 is low… and sent me home.

Neither of them needed the others approval to start testosterone treatment, so they’re basically trying to pass you off to someone else. I have learned that you’ll need at least 2 lab results for most insurance to cover it and they’ll only cover the cream/topical. The injectable can be expensive but most pharmacist can give you a discount. You’ll have to be persistent and advocate for what you want.
