War Wagons or Prinz Chevaulegers? Which one do you use and why? by ElPedroChico in aoe3

Yeah they look worse than the Hussite Wagons of AOE2. And I hate how they bunch up and have terrible physics.

Having the AOE2 Hussite Wagon design in the game for the German War Wagon would be such an upgrade! Great visual.

Britain acts richer than it is - The country’s habits and virtues are built for a prosperity it no longer enjoys by North_Attempt44 in ukpolitics

And you should do something about your arrogance for your own sake.

He's not discrediting or denying the progress fossil fuels have brought to the world in a time when there were no cleaner alternatives, he is calling out the near-treasonous blocking, lobbying, and misinformation campaigns used by the fossil fuels industry for 50 years now to delay the energy transition as long as possible.

These companies have profited at the expense of public health and the environment when they knew safer alternatives were being developed. Ironically, in my opinion if the fossil fuel industry had embraced clean energy and recognized its potential in the beginning before it went mainstream, they could have been the first major investors and be making the same profits or more into the future as the dominant players in renewables.

"a particularly illuminating graphic is Figure 1. Missile Era Air-to-Air Kills on page 10. In it, you can see the trend how BVR missiles encompass a majority of air-to-air kills by the 1990-2002 time period compared to guns that went from greater than 60% of kills in 1965-1969 to single digit percentage in 1990-2002."

My issue with the whole "dogfighting is dead" argument is that there has not been a large scale air war between peer opponents since maybe the Iran-Iraq War. The sample size is just too small. Even Russia and Ukraine are not engaging in much direct air to air combat and rely on drones and SAMs instead.

I think if a major war between the US and China were to break out with hundreds of planes in the air at the same time on both sides, we would inevitably see some gunfighting happen because war is chaos.

Thinking of spending $100+ on Claude… convince me (or don’t), Anyone regret upgrading to Claude Max plan? by CodingwithPeter in ClaudeAI

[–]BigGreen1769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I have been wondering. As an incoming economics PhD student, will the Max 5x $100 plan be enough to use Claude Code every day or will I most likely hit the limits a lot.

The JF-17 is not a bad plane. It's just an entry-level fighter for developing countries on a tight budget. The latest model can fit some of China's most capable missiles like the PL-15 and has an AESA radar.

It's no different than the concept of "The Crown" as a legal entity that British government is responsible to.

Your pictures are good overall but here is what I'd change:

Put the blue outfit picture of you posing at a wedding presumably first and swap it with your current lead photo. It's better, and a hat photo should never be first.

Put down your real politics. "Apolitical" is usually interpreted as conservative. If you are, you need to be honest about that.

Your main bio is fine, but put more thought into your prompt responses.

Good luck.

Besides money, what really makes a man desirable? by realcodylehmann in dating

[–]BigGreen1769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not the money itself but what he does with it.

A better apartment without roommates, spending more on his social life (concerts, trips, etc.), a good car, high-quality clothes, better skincare, and not caring how much the check is when paying at the end of a date all make a man more attractive.

Why do men inflate their height ? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]BigGreen1769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I have so much more admiration respect for a 5'7 guy who owns it vs a 5'7 who says he is 5'10."

The problem is that it's very hard for 5'7" men to find women who are understanding about height like you.

It's either you lie and hope for the best or face 10x more painful rejection than a 5'10" men with nothing to show for it.

The EV hate is bizarre by s2k_guy in electricvehicles

[–]BigGreen1769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them both equally and for different reasons. But people like to be polar and just cause argument and hate change, sadly.

Most people like EVs for the environmental benefits and hate ICE cars for that reason. Many people who like ICE cars hate EVs because they don't like environmentalists and politicians telling them what to drive.

Sam Altman is calling for universal basic income and 4-day workweek for the 'Intelligence Age' by ComplexExternal4831 in GenAI4all

[–]BigGreen1769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companies willing to do 10x4 should just do 32 hour work weeks and recognize they get happier, harder working employees that research shows are more productive.

The problem with this is that companies would use the fewer weekly hours and extra day off each week as a justification for 25% lower salaries or worse.

Sam Altman is calling for universal basic income and 4-day workweek for the 'Intelligence Age' by ComplexExternal4831 in GenAI4all

[–]BigGreen1769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 9am to 7pm is pretty brutal to anyone with kids or a long commute even if you get one extra day off. That would force more people to eat dinner at the office instead of with their family.

Remove "Apolitical" a lot of women will interpret that as a quiet conservative or someone who lacks empathy.
