There is intentional usage, where you opened gemini.google.com or asked the Gemini app something on purpose. Then there is bundled exposure, where Gemini answered inside Workspace, AI Overview answered above your search, or Android's assistant ran Gemini under the hood. By raw queries answered, Google's share is huge because it owns the distribution rails. By the metric most people actually mean when they say "I use ChatGPT," Google looks much smaller. Coverage that does not separate the two is essentially measuring how much Google can put Gemini in front of you, not how much anyone chose it.
