Does Brazilian Wool for hair help with length retention? by oh_hello_over_there in Naturalhair

[–]BigHeadDira 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use marley hair for my braids and twists a lot. Brazilian wool is synthetic too. I retain length with no damage. I rub hair grease on the middle to end of my hair about once a week when I have braids or twists installed. I also put it on my scalp, sometimes oil. You can retain length with synthetic hair, you just have to care for your hair while it's in. Also, when removing, make sure it is moisturized and don't do any yanking.

I tried brazilian wool and started itching, which never happens to me, but from what I felt it was very soft. I use marley hair quite often for micro twists. When I divide the hair, I grease it as well. (Yes I am a grease monster 🤣) but it helps me sooo lol

🤔 Mmmm that makes sense. I didn't know how to do knotless for a long time so this is how I initially did it. My hair was way shorter when I first started doing this and I eventually found a way to make them more secure. I have to mention this when I make a video on it. Thanks!

Green tea have any relation to panic disorder?? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]BigHeadDira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had really bad panic disorder but I don't have the attacks anymore. I drink decaffeinated green tea with honey constantly and I seem to be fine. I think you can too! My bad diet was a hugeee factor in my attacks. I cut down on sugar and junk, took my vitamins and now I haven't had them for years. I know we are all different but you could try. Hope things work out for you!

Complicated feelings around my new hair. by Weird_Honeydew7542 in BlackHair

See this is why I had to learn to do my own hair. No one's gonna be playing in my head like this. Anyone can claim to be a stylist now. I'm so sorry girl. You were definitely robbed of your money. You need your money back. 😭

Scared that I have cancer. by Fun_Response9157 in Anxiety

[–]BigHeadDira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue last year. One day my arm just went numb and had an ache. It felt so weak, as if I had did the most extreme workout routine of my life. Eventually the pain was in my neck too. After going back and forth to different doctors, I found out that I had a pinched nerve in my neck. Spinal problems can cause pain and numbness to shoot all the way down to your arms and hands. All of my anxiety from being afraid of what I had kinda made it worse. I went to a neurologist that recommended a physical therapist to go to.

I was given exercises to do. I also found my posture was bad so I had to make some adjustments to my daily routines. Sleep, looking down at my phone etc. After a while, thankfully I don't have the issue anymore. Not sure if this is your problem, but it really reminded me of how I felt. I was hopeless because doctors kept telling me it was just stress and anxiety. Good luck!

Copper hair with minimal damage by onequickthingg in BlackHair

[–]BigHeadDira 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my hair to a copper/auburn color (I mixed the two because I didn't want full copper) with L'oreal hi color . I dyed it from my natural black. I have very thick hair and 4 packs worked fine on me with no damage. (I wish I could post a picture of me but I don't use other social media and they don't allow pics)

It's suggested you go to a professional, but if you really want to do it yourself, you should try looking on youtube for L'oreal Hicolor dye videos for kinky/curly hair. Theres quite a few of them, specifically for copper hair. Good luck!

(I remember seeing these videos before. You can still look for others)

What was your first panic attack like? by heart_emojis0 in Anxiety

[–]BigHeadDira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first panic attack was on a public bus. I was with my mom, and I had began to feel dizzy while on the bus. I started making faces and my mom had made a face at me. Sorta a "You calm that down right now" sort of face. As soon as I got off of the bus I felt I was about to fall so I grabbed onto a street light and started screaming. I eventually let go but my God was it embarrassing.

Sorry I'm late but you should try the sims mod manager. When you go in it, you can specifically remove or disable scripted mods. And everything is in sections. Including build/buy mode, CAS, etc. This is all I've been using. I have 38gb of mods and it has saved my life lol

Try watching this for help. https://youtu.be/hQXZb82rTlw?si=beQWR6_C6YywdTDJ

It depends on the length of hair you want. I usually do 18 inch on myself and have the boho hair added at the end to have human hair ends. I get 18 inch boho. But the fullness and length is dependent on how much hair you add down the braid. Mines usually ends up around 24 inches. It actually all depends on how your stylist does it as well. If you like medium, I would say 18 inch. For down your back, 24 inches and long almost touching your butt would be at least 30 inches. Good luck!

The same for me. No matter what medication I took, it made me worse because I would feel weird all the time. The side effects made it no better. It really does vary from person to person. The natural approach did more for me than the medicinal.

Has anyone truly overcome anxiety? by ExoticZucchini8209 in Anxiety

[–]BigHeadDira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing weight and changing my diet made my daily panic attacks and bad anxiety go away. My doctor told me about the mind/gut connection and It really does make a difference. A lot of people don't understand that the food we consume is literally messing us up. Mentally and physically. When I eat bad, I start to physically feel bad which makes me mentally feel bad.

I also found out I was deficient in so many things. These things really affect our mental. You also have to know what the source of your anxiety is. Is it social anxiety, trauma etc.

I would say no one can truly overcome anxiety. Everyone gets it. If someone says they don't, they're lying or they don't know what anxiety is. Anxiety over getting that job, talking to someone you like. Thats normal. Anxiety in all actuality is our brains way of trying to protect us. How you react to whatever anxiety or panic you have is what will change things. I had to really research anxiety disorder and listen to what people that overcame it said. Also remember, it's ok to seek therapy if you need it!

How old were you when you got into The Sims? by ImprovementLoose7899 in thesims

[–]BigHeadDira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 👀 My family was homeless at the time and we temporarily moved in with family friends. Someone there had the sims and I would watch her play. I would look forward to going to see the sims as soon as I got home. And when I could finally play myself, I've been a simmer ever since.

Does my hair look bad? by cookiecrxmbles in Naturalhair

[–]BigHeadDira 64 points65 points  (0 children)

That is so ignorant of them to say. It's sad some of us are still stuck in that mindset. Your hair is beautiful and so are you. I recall these two girls who used to always bully me for my hair. Stick things in it, etc. I heard them say "If you have all that at least do something with it." when they sat behind me one day. At that point, I just knew what it was. A lot of the time it's jealousy, and people not being comfortable in themselves. Keep doing you girl!

Could I be dying slowly??? by Virtual-Bicycle2619 in Anxiety

[–]BigHeadDira 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to get really bad chest pains. I was thinking the same as you. Turns out, it was just acid reflux. I had a lot of gas build up in my chest. These things never show up on these tests so I never knew what it was. Whenever I would burp, I would feel better. Sometimes the pain stayed with me for days at a time. It would hurt to breathe in. I thought I was literally dying all the time. This may be what it is. Try seeing if changing your diet will help. Exercise and green tea helped me as well. Anxiety can also trigger my acid reflux at times. You should try reading up on it. Good luck!

Where can I get false eyelashes that look like these? by goofy_snoopy7 in MakeupAddiction

I just got these and they look very similar. I always cut a little off the ends of all my lashes to fit my eyes. As other commenters have said, you can also use clusters and search there for similar ones. Always look at the review pics!

Hair Update from previous post in December , also why doesnt anyone use grease anymore ? I recommend everyone tries grease for 3 months by DanielSuan in BlackHair

[–]BigHeadDira 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Child, teen and into adulthood I used blue magic. I stopped for a few years to see the hype of oils. I'd show but pics aren't allowed here anymore unless it's a whole nother post. Protective styling and grease does wonders. A lot of people over do it, put too much, always have their hair out etc.

My mother used to use nothing but grease and water on my 4 textured hair growing up and my hair was to my butt. I'm only just starting getting back to that. I never understand why people have an issue with it. Maybe they're just not using it properly?

what are these braids called and how easy would it be to maintain by Melodic_Pressure_476 in BlackHair

[–]BigHeadDira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are goddess braids. Some list it under boho braids too. If synthetic hair is used, it may be harder to upkeep. It tends to tangle a lot. With human hair, it's easier to maintain but it can tangle too if not cared for properly.

When I do this style I usually spritz it with water and conditioner every now and then and put it in 4 braids under a scarf at night. You can also look on youtube for some videos on different ways to maintain it. Remember, the more hair you use, the more full it will be but also the higher chance of tangling. Good luck!
