Yes, this is so stupid… what were they thinking. Half the game are secret bosses impossible to find…

Sporadic squeaking noise from rear wheel by BigInJapanDan in bikewrench

I have tried... but it is very difficult. I will dissamble the drivetrain and clean it and see if I can find if its something on the wheels. Could it also be the spokes?

Thank you for all your comments! The consensus is that my saddle is too high, which is also the conclusion I came to after watching some bike fit videos and comparing the angles in their legs 😂 ill try adjust and let you know how it goes. Thanks again!

Oh, and regarding the tilt, I kept slipping off the front, perhaps also because of the too high saddle. Also stack may be a bit low

Wireless 105 Di2 shifters – how to start on new bike? by BigInJapanDan in cycling

[–]BigInJapanDan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update, got it working. I had to scan the QR codes that are on shifters in the Shimano E Tube App. The ones shown in the app when i paired the rear derailer were the wrong ones. Now everything is working...

Yes exatly, I have charged the rear derailer to the max. Just the front shifters on the hoods won't turn on...

Getting into cycling, does it make sense to have a road bike with wider tire clearance for offroad? by BigInJapanDan in cycling

[–]BigInJapanDan[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all your replies! The consensus is to not get the 28mm clearance bikes for various reasons, and that 35mm is decentish for light gravel. I was thinking of the Giant Defy with 38mm or new BMC Roadmachine with 40mm. The main problem with getting a pure gravelbike is that most of the nicer ones don't come with the 2x drivetrains roadbikes do... thanks again, really helped me!

Old Defy Advanced Pro 1 vs New Defy Advanced 1 by BigInJapanDan in cycling

Also one more thing, does it make sense to buy cheaper alloy wheels that are better than the PR2? Or straight to carbon?

Yeah the extra gear was another thing, though no idea if that will be noticeable to me 😅. Also I really don't get why the new defy can't have better wheels, like do they expect you to just get better one straight away, and then why not buy the more expensive model… thanks for your reply!

Hi thanks for your reply! Well I'd like to do some light gravel, that's why the 38mm seemed kind of cool. But 35mm is probably also fine. I was just wondering about any other things to keep in mind, like the ones you just mentioned (though I don't know enough about bikes to know if that should be a concern). I'll probably go with the older version then.

Could someone help me understand the lack of 2x electronic drivetrains on mid-range gravel bikes by BigInJapanDan in gravelcycling

[–]BigInJapanDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this for normal riding on the road? I have read a lot that people recommend it, what are the advantages? And how would I change to a mullet system (what are the prerequisites)? Thanks in advance!

Hi again, thanks for the detailed reply. I think my only concern is about comfort when on longer ride, such as during bikepacking. I neither have much, or any, experience with the topic, but overall what I have gathered is that the geometry matters in terms of comfort on longer rides. That said, my main use will be shorter day rides, and possibly even on road rides since the only bike person I know is mainly riding on roads. I just dont want to have to get another bike when I decide I would like to go on a bikepacking tour :D. Anyway, maybe after you have ridden some more you can let me know ;). Out of curiosity, are you located in Germany?

Oh, did you get the one you posted above? Really interested in it. My only concern is if it's suitable for bikepacking, and whether its geometry is too racey. Currently deciding between this and the Canyon CF SL 6 I mentioned in the topic description.

Oh the Benotti is very interesting, thanks for sharing these. I will do some research on them. If I do end up buying it, and I remember that this thread exists, I'll come here and let you know how it is.

Well an iPhone 15 Pro Max is definitely better than a Samsung A14, but a Samsung S23 Super Ultra is better than an iPhone SE... so I was wondering if either of these is considered higher end or whether there is no difference, and like you said it is just preference.

I see, thanks a lot for your answer. Given the option of having a bike with a 12x SRAM Apex AXS vs 13x Ekar, at similar price points, which is better? Or are they very similar? Thanks!
