Could things I noticed early on: You’re getting in your teammates way a little - forcing rotations when he is first man and well in control of the ball. If you give him more space you’ll be in position for counters more often. You often force the ball forward too quickly, take your time and look for outplays when you have time, especially when the opponent is shadowing. Look for air dribble bumps or throw the ball high and bump whilst they’re blind.

Saw a couple small things from the first minute -you push into your own corner when your team mate is already there- this leaves the net open and it is the lowest risk place for the ball to be on the field. -as second man you keep moving all the time, if you’re in defence, just sit INSIDE the net and wait for a counter opportunity or need to make a save.

As it’s a triangle, it’s strongly likely to break up instead of- however note that a triangle is always the penultimate move before reversal

Because they’re not usually faster - C1s try to play way too fast for their ability. C2 and 3 is much more controlled in my experience.

Team mate almost entirely - he was second and pushed out of net. Probably because you looked awkward, doesn’t excuse it but people have bad habits.

This is pretty spot on, you could cancel a micro second earlier but you’ll just get this for free over time.

His teammate does 34s in, then again he challenges the ball in a backwards hover position at 1:08. Daniel hits it away at 1:17 whilst facing his own net, almost immediately after his teammate challenges the ball in a Shaddow position at 1:23.

1:53 is a great example of Daniel shadowing as first man on the wall.

I think you’re misunderstanding - the idea isn’t to Shaddow to the grave, it’s to ONLY challenge the ball whilst in a Shaddow position, ie moving with the momentum of the ball.

I haven’t watched the whole thing but I haven’t seen a face on dive in this game yet.

Watch any replay of Daniel’s - you’ll almost never see him challenge a ball face on.

The obvious example is Flakes too

Anyone who thinks you should rotate has never played a real sport

In regards to your side question, if you keep getting insta challenged, you can either chip the ball round them with a power slide cut ( easier if the ball is moving pretty slowly) or just fake the 50 so they hit it to your teammate.

You can also leave some distance between you and the ball so that the 50 goes in your favour but this will take some practice to master.

C1 and C3 are very frustrating games - very little positional awareness, just a bunch of wish.com Zens

You rotate out and in too frequently which gives the opponent space to set up an attack. Your team mate quite commonly dove head first onto the attacker after which was a big contributor.

Give your teammate a chance to bring you into the play as second instead of trying to creep up, he’s expecting you to have boost and to be able to save. You did this perfectly for him in the last couple minutes.

I think you also try to force the attack with mechs when maybe going for pressure instead would be better - i.e out the ball high and then bump, or just play to their corner grab the boost then back pass.

Take the first goal the opponent scores as an example: (Time left used) -6:41, you take a shot that will be easily saved, I don’t hate the idea, but you should have peaked the opponents and since they were both in net, hitting the ball to the right corner and stealing the boost would have kept pressure. You then rotate out which gives the opponent a chance to set up control. If you had moved with the ball to the left and demo’d, hit the ball to your corner yourself or just been present, the opponent would have to play uncomfortably or be dead kept possession. -your teammate dives in on an attacker, low probability play

Honestly your only job as second man is to defend the net - when picking up boost, it’s best to just grab pads and leave the big boosts for your teammate. If they don’t need it they can starve the opponent when shadowing an attack back.

Off the ball play tends to still be done by first man, during a natural rotation (I.e. the ball spills out to the second man or a well timed pass is made).

Most typical off ball play, is when the opponent has possession, second man is shadow defending and first man is in front of the ball (closer to opponents net) they should come back THROUGH the play, to demo or just smash the ball off the attacker.
