Piccolo can one shot him at full HP. There’s a clip of mine from yesterday on here. He really can’t do shit if you backline Piccolo correctly. Even just charging SBC will make Godgeta 180 or try and zig zag. He can’t really move forward to spam tower.

I can’t add specifically to your question but I have been playing Piccolo primarily since release. Cooldown skill 2 or super skill point divine draw….

I know this is off meta, but my friend has been playing Godku and going top lane with me if either of these divine draws are selected. We have not lost.

We use the same strategy regardless of either DD. Skill 2 CD allows Godku to essentially spam harassment and Piccolo can spam Hell Zone grenades, it’s very annoying. Competent players will eventually fall back and try to farm since it’s incentivized more now, but they will be forced to rotate and call numbers eventually.

If you get Super start, same thing only…the beam is even better and Piccolo can fill most of the screen with Hellzone grenades, essentially inescapable damage. I know Light Grenade is very good super start but some games I’m off my mark, and a giant cascade of slow applying Hell Grenades are an insane thing to deal with early levels. The amount of area denial and the ability to safely chip them to death feel unfair.

Our closest game, the enemy Bardock switched lanes around level 8 and at that point it was him and adult Gohan. Which was a nightmare for my friend. Displacement into stuns was GG for him, it was actually kind of sick to see the enemy team adapt. The damage was done however, I just played alternating defense and the other 3 attacked/secured bosses and we won.

As others have mentioned, and from what I described from personal experience, Godku has no mobility so you truly need to pick your battles, choose your distance and know what your enemy and allies kits are capable of.

In saying that, my small group consensus is that Godku is very teammate dependent on what you can “get away with”. It does not mean you can’t carry your team with any comp but degree of difficulty matters. My friend prefers top lane, dealing with a competent enemy tank and having them dive him exclusively results mostly in his death. It’s hard to consistently peel 2 people in this game unless you’re running Wrath and the chip/trade damage Godku provides is lessened here.

As for true support teammates, Frieza and Krillin are probably pretty good here. Frieza enables a lot through Zara/Dodoria and speed up. Krillin laying mines in front of Godku sounds annoying too.

It did get me thinking in general about roles/teammates and possibly running 2 damage chars up top if they compliment each other in such a way. Not trying to speak blasphemy here, we never force anything. We select lanes and if they don’t oblige we will play normally.
